Question for the watchers of the night sky.

If there are any sky watchers, astronomers, this question is for you.

What is the large bright object just under the Moon? I have noticed it on my walks the last two nights. From here in Toronto it looks like a diamond hanging off the Moon.

I belive it is Venus or Jupiter ...it was on our weather forecast the other night. (it's a planet :hammer: )

Hey Doug, I first noticed it on the 20th of Dec it was bright even at 4pm and I saw it again last night. Peaked my curiosity as well. I googled it last night and apparently its Venus.

Hi Doug... lucky for you getting to see Venus. It was a cloudy but crystal night in London. It was gorgeous layered in brand new powder.

I was hoping to see the night sky show but no such luck. I was however serenaded by a piper at midnight! I'm dog sitting in a lovely neighbourhood here (house in a court). The dog is a wee Havernese and rather vocal on occasion. He and I went outside on that lovely night and listened to the piper bring in the year. I loved it... Webster, not so much.

Btw if your sky is clear at night, this week it's the best time to watch the Gemini meteor showers.
