I amazed even myself tonight as I was finishing up a bridal bouquet. Fairly low budget wedding so not a lot to put toward handle finishing. So....I double-stick taped the handle and then wrapped rhinestone-studded black elastic around it. The colors of the wedding are black and white so it really looked pretty good. I held it for a bit and decided it might be comfortable to have a textured grip and called it a success. Looked like a million dollars for probably only 1.99! So much quicker and easier than twisting a couple layers of ribbon around and studding it with pearl pins!

Would love to see a pic of that!

I usually try to co-ordinate the bouqut handle with something in the bride's dress. Just go to Hobby Lobby or Jo Anns and pick up a yard or two of trim. It's an inexpensive way to create a very expensive, custom look.

Thank you.
I believe that a wedding bouquet should be a comfortable, manageble, piece to carry. The girl's have enough uncomfortable things to deal with - high heels, wierd undergarments, etc. Their bouquets should be a comfortable, pleasantly sensual experience - a pleasure to hold. I use either double face tape or sometimes paper towels ( something Phil Rhuloda taught me) under a layer of oasis strapping tape, for handle. Makes them soft and squishy. Also, always a layer of cush when using a convention bouquet holder, than usually covered in galex. I never leave a back unfinished or uncovered. Don't care how much or how little they have paid.

Thanks.

Green Trachelium. Absolutely my favorite stuff these days.
Wonderful color and texture. It holds for weeks in a vase.

Color and texture looks incredible with the sherbet colors look - pinks and oranges. I have only been able to find it from Esmeralda. United Floral Exchange from California located some this week.
I love buplurem too. It just doesn't hold up anytime out of water for the hand ties.

I've learned to use that foamy packing they sometimes use to pack roses and such in for shipment. Roll it and form a cone to slip the bouquet handle into and then pimp the handle up before or after.

The "norm" around here are the compact looking clutches, very few cascades or anything else different. We did just do the round oasis balls with ribbon handles for bridesmaids for a wedding. I decided to make "feet" on the bottom of the ball first and camouflage with flowers, that way it has a way to sit down without rolling around or needing to be hung up. Worked pretty good for us too.

Esmeralda is the Breeder and exclusive grower of Jade Trachillium.

Very nice use of it!

Between the other gal and I we got creative, I taped the ball off so it doesn't split apart and used the grid on the bottom as a guideline. We cut pieces of left over fresh stem, like rose stem, about 3" long and used a corsage pin in the tip of it for the finished "foot". We inserted the stems at an angle into the base like legs on a table and adjusted them so they stuck out about 1 1/2 inch. We made sure they weren't inserted too far in to split the oasis sphere and then filled in with flowers, you could barely tell they were there and they sat nicely. I should have taken a pic but didn't, sorry.
