Does a "stacked" style design (ala Gregor Lersch) need to be square or rectangular? Am doing my themed design for my mmfd (Maine Master Florist Designer) this weekend and I am intrigued by a design in one of Gregor's books which he calls "stacked" but it is done rectangular. I would like to use colored oasis foam and do it round. Is this proper? Gregor doesn't actually go into the aspect further.
Thanks for any help.

I think I just found the answer but would appreciate opinions...
stacked design: tiered design in which the components usually diminish in size as thy ascend and in which volume is often segmented into positive and negative space.
hmm wish I could do a sketch

I've never read where stacking couldn't be done in a round form - but - it may have a 'wedding cake' sorta shape.

IMO a rectangular shape can provide more interest to the symmetrical and static feel inherent in the stacked form - which may be why it's often used.

By varying textures and colors, there's no reason you can't go round.
