Sad news today...

Wanda Brady passed away after an extended illness. Her services are pending but are tentatively planned for next Saturday.

Many of us knew Wanda for her activities in FTD at both the District and National levels. She was a member of AIFD and many other floral organizations.

She owned Downey Florist for many years and then relocated to the Palm Springs area, owning and operating Cathedral City Florist.

If you ever met Wanda, you'd never forget her. Enthusiastic, bold, and hard-working with a love for this business - and especially for her two greatest treasures, her daughters.

Will let you know when her service information is finalized.

Wanda Brady introduced Buddy and I and set us up on our first date. So, our memories of her are especially fond. Thanks for letting us know Cathy,

She was truly one of the most unique individuals I have ever met. This really hurts.

Wanda was a TRUE SWEETHEART!

Yes, back in THE DAY (FTDA) Wanda Brady was a TRUE FTDA ICON and a REAL FAMILY MEMBER!

Both Linda and I remember Wanda well, especially her MAGIC in creating corsages using the newer HOT GLUE TECHNIQUES recently introduced at that time. As Wanda always put it: "IF YOU CAN'T GLUE IT, DON'T DO IT!"

Our best memory of the GREATEST FTDA CONVENTION we ever attended was in 1994 in Anaheim, California, when Cathy Hickman Frost was running for Vice President of FTDA and won by a landslide. Cathy later became our FTDA President for 1996/1997.

All of us in Cathy's camp were in tears when the final results were in!

And afterwards, we all got DRUNK AS GAGLE OF SKUNKS drinking COSMOPOLITANS at the bar with Wanda Brady as she led our group dressed in her usual outrageous attire and as always, was OUR PARTY QUEEN.

We will all miss OUR WANDA tremendously and look forward to the day when we can all link up together once again and hoist a wee dram or many of them to all of our FTDA family on the other side of the Pearly Gates.

God Bless you Wanda and thanks for the really great times we were all so privileged and honored to share with you! We will never forget you!

Semper Fi! Your FTDA Family Friends,
John and Linda

Toto and to all, I am greatful to all the kind words for Wanda a dear friend and talented artist. She battled to the end and when ready, said" Lets gitty up, time to go". I will miss her terribly. In her words as she had much show business, what a pleasure to see so many friends that where able to come on short notice. Her funeral was like her shows, lots of flowers, lots of food and with her girls, trying to dance with words of love and little tears. I have learned much from this, don't give up, cherish your friends and family and live your passion. To those friends and floral family who read this, I miss you all and thank flower chat for giving us a way to communicate over the many miles.
Cathy aka "Dorothy"
