I've just recently come across these on the internet, never seen one for real (not sure if I want to, no offence, like to keep it real) not for sale here, and also I am a bit surprised to hear they come out of Holland. I did poll my family there and no, not seen them and no, would not consider buying them, sounded a bit "te gek" for them (= too crazy) and they know their flowers! Maybe for Carnival (sim to mardi gras)

So what is your opinion, how do you feel about these colourful creatures?!? Are they popular across the ponds? Do you like them? Would/do you sell them in your shop? While we are on the topic, do you sell dyed flowers etc in your shop? Blue Dendrobiums?!? Green Sunflowers?!?

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

People love them. Never sell them by the dozen, always one at a time.
They open kinda pretty.
I always keep a bunch in the cooler. Also blue roses.
I see on the dutch auction of fb, there is a multitude of colors.
I also sell the brightly dyed daisies and the dyed blue orchids.
The dyed blue orchids are great.
They sometimes last for 3 weeks.
Here in Colorado, it's so dry, that tropicals do not hold up well.
The blue orchids are like preserved.

At first, I though yuk, but again, the customers love them. What do I know?
Always, "Are they real"?

my granddaughter watches J Schwanke's videos and she made the statement that the roses were ugly.
That is a 9 year old's opinion.

There's a couple of other threads on the rainbow roses, they didn't sell well out of the cooler for us, and they're pricey because of the labor involved. You also have to consider that on some of the flowers the dying burns the edges and you will lose a few. We recently got the dyed dendros for prom and the throats were burned, we had to carefully snip that out and on top of that they were all bruised. We worked to sell them, the kids were excited and then they sent us ones they had bruised.

I have seen them and Franca, I share your opinion...YUCK!!! Not to be a snob, but I try to adhere to a strict no fake colors policy (If God didn't make it that color, then we shouldn't either!!). Although I do bend that rule for tinted sunflowers, some genesta and that pretty autumn waxflower...oh yeah, Copper Beech too. I guess I am a little bit of a hypocrate!

Cute, and I would have thought kids would like them, gladly take advice from the future flower buyer generation

My frame of mind is much the same as yours, really don't do dyed flowers well at all. Seen some orangy dyed sunflowers that looked somewhat realistic, I think it is mainly that particular shade of blue that screams ikk to me. I don't mind copper beech etc, foliage/filler stuff.
I must admit I did become a huge fan of a product called Mostique, which is a naturally dyed sphagnum moss, so it doesn't run, realistic colours and after showcasing it in a design show I became a big fan of the stuff, so guess I will join you in the sometimes hypocrate corner.

you know what?????

Durango is filled with tree hugging- granaola eating- my car runs on used vegetable oil driving-we only buy green power- we shop at the thrift store- i only buy my fruits and vegetables at the farmers market because they are "organic" and I like to pay $5 for 8 carrotts hippies................... And when we do get them in, they buy them!!!!

When I first saw them, I also thought "yuckola" but whatever...

We thought we'd get a bunch or 2 in and see what happens. And that's what happened.

It's my understanding that these were first produced in holland but I know for a fact you can get cheaper versions from south america, but they are not quite as "nice"

We sell Happy Roses, but the customer must pre-order them (click here). We don't keep inventory of these roses, because of low sales volume.

Despite the low sales volume, I figured they are a good product to offer especially on the web, because so few florists offer them even as a pre-order item. Some customers drive hours to come visit our store just to buy one of those. No other single flower has that kind of power to attract some people.

Also, they actually are lot prettier than they look in the picture or video. They last long, too (about 10 days). Do we "like" them? At least I (owner) like anything that sells and they do sell.

Other than Happy Roses, we don't sell any dyed flowers at all. Many of them stain the vase water and they don't look good when arranged with other "natural" flowers in our opinion.
