Although I did not serve, my Dad was (is) a Marine. Being raised by a Marine is not the same as being one, but I have a good understanding of your pride and share your continued respect and enthusiasm for our Armed Forces.

I met a Marine at one of our Florist Conventions as he was checking out of the Hotel we were at. He was proudly wearing his Marine Corps hat and I thanked him for his service and mentioned that my Dad had served during WWII and he wanted to know where, when, etc. He asked me to tell my Dad that I had met a Marine who was at Iwo Jima and thats all I needed to say. When I told my Dad he stood at attention with the pride of a Marine and I thought he was going to salute.
