I am Gus Pappas and own Norton's Florist in Birmingham, Al. We have 4 locations and have been around since 1921. I bought the business 6 years ago with no design experience. Was CFO of a large jewlery store chain where I was around retail for about 15 years.

I try to work on the busness, not in it and do alot of advertising and sales promotions to drive the business. Just can't learn enough about the floral industry and looking forward to sharing some of what I know.

Hi Gus...Welcome to flowerchat. Also Thanks for the wonderful job Nortons does. My shop is in Columbus MS and we often need flowers in Birmingham, your staff is so professional and easy to deal with.

Welcome my friend!

Gus is one of my favorites in this biz.
He is a super guy and does a lot to help the ASFA.

He will learn a lot and also can contribute.

Jump in with both feet, the plunge will do us good.

Hi Gus,

Welcome! I loved your website! Especially the blurb at the bottom of the main page rgarding the "Local Florist"!!! I don't know how to do the quote thing, so I will cut & paste.

Local Florist

You can have your flowers delivered in a box or freshly arranged by a local florist…the choice seems like an easy one to us! Or you can place your order with a national company who sends orders to “who knows what florist” and keeps 25% of what you pay them…. Placing your order with a local florist means getting 100% of what you pay to the ones who fill your order, and it takes the guessing out of the game—you know who prepared your order, and you can hold them to it!

A big Welcome Gus.
Sounds like you may have quite a bit of knowledge to contribute.
Glad you're aboard
