For those of you that do not fill for order gatherers, do you reject right away? Do you wait until the last minute and then reject?
How do you handle these?
Our new phone book came out yesterday and nearly half a page is dedicated to an order gatherer "American Blooms" of course first thing this morning there is an order on the system from that OG.
American Blooms is listed as an SFO and their address is in Miami. No where on their phone book ad does it indicate that.
At any rate I'm not filling this order

I have told the major OG's that their orders will not excepted here and to send them via the merc they become toilet paper as I don't reject, forward or ask just ignore , they can send em at their peril.

Which of the WS's are they a member of??

I haven't checked, but, with Dove, you can select incoming code numbers that your system will automatically "reject".
I haven't looked that far with Merc Direct...probably not an available feature.
I hit them for a large price increase, at the end of the day......
Mike

This was a Dove order and I have already put them in the do not fill list on the Dove.

Aren't you missing the "I fill it" choice?
Someone out there must be filling the orders.

now George, if you read my post it says "for those of you who don't fill OG orders"
Obviously there are many many shops that fill for them or they would not be in business. It still amazes me that FTD and TF allow them to be members while they them selves are trying to get the orders. Seems to me that if FTD and TF pulled the plug on ALL the OG's it would just put the orders in their pockets but that's another thread...

Now why would they kick out the OG'ers? They don't care where the money comes from. If they treated shops with some respect and didn't allow OG's to be members, things would improve a lot quicker.

Yea and FEES WOULD TRIPLE!

See the problem with kicking out the OG'S will eliminate, how much Revenue for the Company? So since they are becoming the Wolf in the Hen House? is that right Bloomz? Those FEES would have to increase because the Mom and Pop Shops want it that way? Hummmm.

It just might be easier to not have a Membership to the BIG TWO for sending Flowers.??? I remember My Father didn't have to go through INCREASED FEES for SENDING FLOWERS. This make sence? In those days they(BIG TWO) who exist now, were happy for you as a shop to belong for $10.00 per month.

Only problem today is what WE, Mom and Pop Shops let them do whatever they Pleased without a voice from anyone of us Members...sure we get on the phone and spill our displeasure throughout the YEARS but did it make a change? a real change?.

What Change? the pocket change I have left after having to pay out almost 4 big ones for a BOOK which I have never seen...

Due to the fact that there are soooo many false advertising sites on the web itself, how do you distinguish a gatherer from those who list say "Millinocket, ME" somewhere Anywhere in their site. There are plenty of them. I certainly don't wish to fill for them either. But there are at least 8 or 10 new ones every day. It is disgusting....
And in my own phone book first of course is A Absolutely of Salt Lake City. I do reject if I know who they are, but they are very very tricky these supposedly "fellow florists".

I'm sorry, I only looked at the choices and did not read your message.
I'm glad to see that the second option has no votes. Doing that only hurts the consumer, which will probably never send flowers again, which in turn will hurt the flower industry.
