Tomorrow is Rememberance Day. For the second time in my life this day means more than ever before. I remember Mark in this current effort, I remember my Dad in a past effort... I remember, I am grateful, and I weep.

Veterans Day is today, November 11th.

Driving to work, we passed by the preparation for a small town service. Two suited elders, wrestling with a microphone stand, next to our small town memorial. My mind tries to comprehend what they have seen in their lives. I too am grateful.

Remembering veterans today. And missing my favorite veteran of WWII, William Huls. Rest well my friend.

The ceremony here was moving, and well attended. Mrs. Wilson (Mark's Mom) was honoured with being the Silver Cross Mother this year. I'm sure it's an honour she would happily give up to have her son back with her.

So, yes, wherever they are fighting today, I pray for a safe return. And for those currently fighting and for all those who went before, I thank them for their efforts and courage.

It Was Emotional.

Just got back from our remembrance day church service and laying of poppy wreaths at our cenotaph/war memorial. The weather was wretched but the turnout was full strength,it just proves that despite everything else that clutters our lives, we all still feel a very stong connection and affiliation to the horror that affected our soldiers past, and still affects those currently in service around the world.
Our Cenotaph/War memorial was beautifully presented this year our parks department had excelled, it was en-circled by gorgeous red cyclamen's and looked majestic..Truely emotional.

Remembering with humble and heartfelt gratitude to all who have served, but most especially my dad who is still my hero and who would have loved the ceremonies...also my daughter's 27 year old boyfriend, who served 2 tours in Iraq, who earned 2 purple hearts, and who is contemplating a return to the Army and Iraq because his "brothers" are serving without him..........

to my father in law who lived, yet lost all his buddies over Africa, my mother in law who joined the Navy in WWII against all advice, my Uncle who never made it home from D day, my Dad in Korea, my Buddy Ray who had the honor to fly President Kennedy on his last journey home and all the other men and women who serve and have served. I salute you and say thanks for my freedom!
