As of this morning our website is no longer showing up on Google.

I noticed about 3 or 4 days ago that the search results where showing up everydayflowers.com instead of .net. I wasn't sure what was causing the problem but I knew it wasn't good.

I found the problem a couple of days ago and hoped I had caught it intime. I guess at this point its a matter of crossing fingers and I hope the google gods will spare us very little down time.

Some pages are still indexed but as of today I see no traffic coming from google.

Wish me luck

Eric,

You're showing up for me. Google shows over 600 pages indexed and you're #1 for "tustin ca florist."

Have you checked your GWT for any notifications of penalties?

Ryan

I have checked nothing from them yet. Right now i don't see our main front page showing up on google. The only thing I see is the sub pages. Like the one you are seeing for your keywords.

Before It was just our front page with the results. So you would see our main page and then the Tustin Florist page that you are seeing.

See what I noticed earler this week was our main page with everydayflowers.com and then the rest of the site pages where showing up as .net. I found the problem (I didn't do it something with yahoo upgrading) and fixed it.

Perhaps the changes that I made a couple of days ago are going through the data centers and everything should be okay.

I hope.

I'm attaching clips of the results I'm seeing. No problems here.

Are you thinking it was an issue with improper redirects?

Ryan

Unbelievable! What does Yahoo have to say about this? Is there anything they're willing to do to fix it? The timing couldn't be worse.

I see what you mean. Your Tustin page shows in a keyword search, but a query for your shop name nets zero.

Here is my screen shot.
Hope you can read it.

Is that screen shot you sent from your results? because thats the way its suppose to be. Like I said perhaps I just need to wait for google servers to continue to update.

Yahoo's standard response is.

"Your calling us because you have a problem with google?"

I have accepted the fact that a website is not perfect. It will go down it will come back up. You cannot control what happens everyday. Results change and its a matter of being patient and waiting.

Yes, my screenshot was from a search performed at that time.

What I'm seeing in your screenshot is that Google is returning a page from your site with a title that matches the query exactly. This is good. It's relevant.

Remember, ranks pages, not just sites. They return the pages that they determine to be the best match. If it looks like in this case they are saying "The page titled 'Tustin CA Florist' is the most relevant page for a customer looking for 'Tustin CA Florist'."

The results you're seeing may be the leading edge of an update, or the trailing edge, but either way Google is presenting a relevant result. Congrats - you've graduated to the next level of SEO: ranking themed pages, not just a site. :>

Well I did notice that my website went up to a PR3. Whoop de do. I still don't know why we went from PR4 to PR2 and finally back up to PR3.

I see what you mean that those pages now have there own Page Rank.

But I am missing my Site links!!!!

I'll wait and see. Thanks for the complement Ryan. But I will keep my title at demoted webmaster for now.

PR can be overrated - remember, PR is relative to keywords as well. PR alone won't rank a site.

Side note: StriderSEO.com launched in mid-February, and is now a PR5, with our blog at PR4. And yet, we're only starting to rank for our target terms (mostly on the strength of the blog - we're holding off on publishing a lot of content until the site design is done).

Ryan

On my end, you're showing up as number one on Google search results for local florist in Tustin.

what is PR3 or 4? (page ranking?)
I've noticed 2 different pages from my site comming up 1 and 2 on the search results..is this an example of ranking theme pages??
thanks..

Eric - Don't despair. I'm seeing you #1 in the Local One Box and #2 in natural results for flowers tustin ca :) Your blog is the only thing in front of your site.

Perhaps I should rephrase my concern.

Tustin Sucks.

But Irvine and Santa Ana Are better..

Well the google gods must of seen their mistake because as of 9:15am our websites front page came back into the search results.

I am just a little concerned as to what has happened and why our .com URL is showing in the search results still. I have checked my results in yahoo and it seems to be only showing the .net in the yahoo search results.

I really appreciate all the help you guys gave me with screen shots from your locations. The continue problems I have with yahoo's magical soultion of forwarding old URLS always seems to mess things up when I am not paying attention. I just wished there was a way to a permenant 301 redirect and be done with this mess.

Thanks again..
