Replacement flower for celosia (Cockscomb)

I have a wedding in two weeks and of course I have been told that there will be no more Celosia... only the feathery kind, but I need the texture of the cockscomb.... ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I have attached the picture of the bouquet she loves..

You should be able to get cockscomb out of Holland year-round. Might try a company that specializes in imports.

Maybe you could find it in dried or permanent. Maybe Ginger would work, though the stems are pretty fat so you would maybe have to wire. If I think of any better ideas I'll let you know.

We were able to get peonies out of Holland for Dec, maybe you should give Mayesh a try?

Cockscomb celosia from France has been running really well the past few weeks here. Brainy, but the ripples are not quite as deep and more ball shaped than the kind in your picture.

I'm even thinking that 'Black Magic' or 'Hocus Pocus' roses bunched up would give some of that velvety texture, not the ripples and not as exotic, but could complement...sometimes they are more cranberry colored and not as dark.
