Retail Therapy... I finally understand.

It's a miserable, gray, rainy day... ark building weather if the the rain doesn't cease. It's Santa Claus parade day/night. Hopefully the sleigh has pontoons.

I have the weekend off and had all kinds of plans for outdoor activity. Not having pontoons I moved the plans to shopping for a few things. I'm not much of a shopper and honestly the money is too hard to come by. However, today the dam broke and I had a really good time. Do I feel guilt? No. Do I feel recharged? Yes. I now understand the theory behind retail therapy. :)

Glad you had a good time spoiling yourself a little, V. I hate shopping, so rarely have a day like that!

We had terrible rainy weather last weekend and up til Wed. Rained like 1" per day. We even got to sit through my son's soccer game last Sat. in a DELUGE. Luckily, today is beatiful, bright and sunny for his game at 3 p.m.
 
While you are at it I perscribe this.

To help with the "retail therepy", the "Pre-Christmas Season" heck I don't care, you can pick me out an LCD or Plasma 50 or 52 inch 1080p HD TV. I will make sure you don't feel guilty.

I will even drive to London to get it!

Hey V, glad you had a great day!! I do not like shopping as such but love the odd day out around the shops and do feel so good when you see something you really gotta have and you just say what the heck and get it.

Yes, good ole retail therapy.... glad you enjoyed it!!
 
It's funny all these retail people not liking shopping! lol

I LOOOOVE shopping. I love stores, I am all about retail therapy.

Dam n. I've used up all my available resources Doug. I have Alana's birthday next week and of course her Christmas. Couple that with what I bought myself, I'm tapped out. May I keep your list for the next time the mood strikes?

By the way, all the shops were crammed with people... including the liquor store. Not what I was expecting.

Hey V, I get ya about the weather, it has gone from rain to snow now. I am not much of a shopper, but a nice bottle of amarone( I may have spelled that wrong, it's a nice Italian red) from the vintage section at the liquor store would be nice. I'll even share!

Missy someone asked me if I was going to the parade tonight... yes sir, I'll get right on that. ;) I've cleaned my place, I've had my dinner and now I'm enjoying some Chilean Red... I'm happy to share too.

I absolutely detest shopping of any kind.
So lucky to have a hubby that does the grocery shopping.
My therapy, Bubble Bath with candles and wine, Andre Bocelli in the background. Comfy clothes and big soft blanket and above all a good book!
 
I love the bubble bath ritual too. However, I don't have a personal shopper so I must brave the wilds of retail on my own (not my fondest activity either).

Choosing the positive attitude went a very long way in making my experience fun. Even the grocery store didn't frustrate me the way it usually does... perhaps because I'm hosting a dinner party and therefore food shopping is more entertaining.

I went to Linens and Things to take advantage of their sale. Even on my day off however I was still in work mode. I had the great good fortune of having a staff person there Wow me with her service. I suggested, when the current job was done, she come see me at Angelos.

I then lost myself in 400 thread count sheets and lucious bath sheets, table linens and more.

Chapters fed my book soul... I love the smell of book stores. All in all, it was a great day.
