Army Pfc. Jennifer Cole, 34, enlisted in the military a year ago and had been in Iraq since March. She was due to come home for an 18-day leave on Aug. 11, her mother said.

She enlisted in the Army after working for her mother's floral business for most of her adult life. She graduated from Vintage High School in Napa in 1992 and took a few community college courses, but otherwise devoted herself to the family business, her mom said. "She was a great floral designer," Gholson said.

Very Sad - did you know her? And she was a florist.

We could fill up this board and run out of bandwidth with these...

CNN updates these every few days:

There have been 4,441 coalition deaths -- 4,127 Americans, two Australians, one Azerbaijani, 176 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, one Czech, seven Danes, two Dutch, two Estonians, one Fijian, five Georgians, one Hungarian, 33 Italians, one Kazakh, one Korean, three Latvian, 22 Poles, three Romanians, five Salvadoran, four Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians -- in the war in Iraq as of August 1, 2008, according to a CNN count. (Graphical breakdown of casualties). The list below is the names of the soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen whose deaths have been reported by their country's governments. The list also includes seven employees of the U.S. Defense Department. At least 30,435 U.S. troops have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon. We lost a good friend in Iraq recently. He died after his vehicle ran off the road into a canal (not certain of the exact term) and he attempted to save the other person who was trapped in the vehicle.

The deaths of these young heroes is simply too sad for words.

The loss of a child, no matter the age or circumstances, is a parents worst nightmare.

I'm sorry.
