WARNING ~ Be very careful about which TF.com orders you fill. I made the mistake of filling one yesterday and it just may be my last one.

Order arrived at 11:00 AM for a 2:00 PM funeral to a funeral home 20-30 minutes away from the shop. Item requested TF192-2 http://www.teleflora.com/flowers/bouquet/green-garden-bowl-34901p.asp Order total $53.95.

Filled with a 10" DG in ceramic $45 + $8.95 delivery fee. Note item on TF.com sells for $54.95. (I guess they skimmed $1 to add to their $14.95 delivery/service fee).

Anyway... Today they are cancelling because the DG was too small. Item is listed as 14"W x 13"H.

Can any of you in a large city (besides RC) deliver a 14" DG in ceramic for this?

Most of you know I am a proud TF member who has been one of their greatest cheerleaders in my area, even serving on the unit board. I am so angry I can barely type. Until I get unmad no tf.com orders will benefit from the quality and service my flower shop provides.

Buyer beware...Florists beware...Lesson learned.

They've all put local florists in the untenable positions of sucking it up and delivering over-promised, under-priced products at ridiculously low prices - or refusing the orders.

Of course, a ceramic filled with plants at that price is impossible - if you want to stay in business.

Did I hear correctly that if you ask for more $, TF now automatically cancels?

They hope your fear of a complaint will over-ride your fear of losing the order. Either way, local shops lose. :(

listed as "approximately 14" W X 13" H
You filled as closely as possible with your delivery charge.
A 10" DG (fluff the foliage) is very close to 13" wide and They are counting the spath blooms in that height of 13"....... (just like they count birch twigs and/or curly willow in height and width measurements (ever notice that in the pics? especially sympathy designs)

That 14" includes plant overhang so I see that as no bigger than a 10" dishgarden with plants overflowing the edge....just like the spray dimentions include the easle height...I really think they should do away with the dims, it is just asking for trouble, how many of us really measure anything anyway...I know I do if I get one of those persnickety customers that asks about the dims...

I would also deny the cancel and fight them on it....

There is no reason for them to cancel the whole order on you, at least give you a call and explain the complaint let you plead your case and then work it out as to what each of you feel is the right thng to do, isn't this how we have been dealing with these things for years, I am not understanding this whole automatic cancel BS without first contacting the sending florist and doing a bit of due diligence....

And that is why I never fill TF Headquarters Orders.

I f I can't remotely possible to do the sending shop gets a comment message and let them decide.
If they can accept a last minute order like that, they should be accept what is sent which is in this case acceptable.

It's has to be someone at the viewing that is complaining. I paid Yada Yada Yada and this is what I got. THey do not realize the extra charge teleflora tack on for rush delivery, order taking taxes etc.

Tell them you will call the customer and pick up the arr before any credit is issued.
You will hear a different tune to the story.

This is the same reason I quit filling orders for Just Flower and FTD. COM to many complaints from there customers.
It not my fault THERE sales people can't explain to there customer what the customer is buying, and they undersale all the time.
I always got paid in full but the hassle wasnt worth it.

I will look at the workbook when I get back but as far as I can tell from the picture that is a 6" opening on that container, the container itself is only a 8" to 9" at best. You can't put more than 3-4,3" plants and a 4" spath in that size pot.
We buy in our 3" and we pot them up ourselves, we could do it for $35.00 but If you used the requested materials I really do not see how they can argue that it was too small.
Teleflora, in my opinion should eat this one.

This is only one small reason that we will not fill orders for anyone but our own customers and those of other LOCAL Florist. Too many complaints, too little salesmanship involved, too little knowledge of product to sell the product in the first place.

Give up filling for TF.com they are never worth it.

Joan

We don't even carry dishgardens anymore. The only orders we get for them are from Tel.com. They are too expensive for such low perceived value.

receipe calls for a loutus bowl #4262 which looks like (judging by the dimensions) is about an 8" opening. Calls for 3 3" plants and 4" spath and 4" butterfly nephytis ....

This is in a 9 1/4" lotus bowl sandstone color and has 3-3" plants and 2-4" plants. So in my opinion a 10 inch dishgarden is what was sold to their customer and it is what they got...regardless of what they thought when they got to the funeral home...this is what they bought from TF...now if they want to refund the money to keep their customer so be it, you should get yours...you upheld your end of the deal and delivered what was ordered...actually you delivered more than was ordered because you sent a ceramic and this was a plastic syndicate sales dish....

Get it back or NO CANCELLATION!

Tell Teleflora.con that you will be happy to CON their CAN as soon as you can make arrangements to get it back from the family.

Ask them to contact THEIR CUSTOMER and inform them that, you will be picking up the disharden since, no credit or refund can be issued by your shop unless you have your product back.

THAT'S YOUR COMPANY POLICY!

End with, they have 48 hours to get back to you with further instructions or you will consider the matter closed and expect FULL PAYMENT for this order.

Your experience is exactely why, we STOPPED FILLING both WS DOT.CON ORDERS and KICKED THEM TO THE CURB!

They all forgot WHO's WORKING for WHOM!

We do not allow them to get away with anything. If you filled the order to value then they have to pay you. If not your rep. has to take care of it. If they will not take care of us we will contact our representative and if he cannot take care of it we will tell him we are cancelling our service with them. They need us more than we need them. We do not fill a lot of there orders unless it is going to give us a profit. Mattie

so - even if you get it back - what about your delivery fees?

Two deliveries - one out and one to pick up - and the sending entity (in this case not a florist like argued last week), since it was done correctly, needs to somehow be responsible for your expenses.

I have read this post like 3 times, but I understand that TF is the one that ordered this from you, but it is there customer who is not happy with what they got!!! Not TF, that is because they were not told it was not huge, that is why, they looked at a pic and thought just that it would be, and with that is it in a nutshell, there were probably a ton of stuff there tha was huge, and that is why they are not happy, So you were the fall guy so to speak, I get lots of issue like this, so I tell them up front it will not be huge, as well as if a big o' og person, so it is on file with them,,,So no issue, I know you did your job, but it should be mandatory for these folks to work in a shop before they become an operator to answer the phone, and that is it ..as well,,,Its all good you did your job, but they DID not, So let them have it, and also ask for there customer info, and go from there,,,it will all work out,,,
