I am so excited.. My 19 year old son Hunter just finished his first year in college and has joined the Troopers Drum and Bugle corp out of Casper WY. He will be traveling with them all over the midwest, parts of eastcoast, the south, TX and back up to Indiana. He flew to meet up with them last Friday in Indiana. (For those living in Iowa, yes one of their busses was involved in a crash a couple of weeks ago. All are healing and going to be OK.) http://members.troopersdrumcorps.org/schedule.htm

My husband decided that we needed to find away to see him perform and the closest they get to us is Woodbury MN and Mankato MN. So we are making a fast a furious trip in two days to Woddbury MN by the 28th of June. (Yes, it's about 26 hours of straight driving). We were planning our trip leaving on Saturday to give us plenty of time... but we forgot one key thing in our life.. Analiese's (12) dance recital on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. So glad we can change plans quickly. We are leaving right after her show... with a air mattress in the back of the Burb... we will tag team driving until we get to Jamestown ND, which will be sometime Monday Evening... Take a rest and continue on to Woodbury. Crazy :spin... but so worth it!!!

We will take the scenic route home and take our time.. Lots to see. Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone.

I have no weddings or orders and it's been a bit slower this week and probably even more so next week before the July 4th weekend.

Watch out Minnesota... here we come!!!

Enjoy !! Nothing better than Drum & Bugle Corps !! Our Katahdin Rangers were in the finals of Nationals many many years ago (60's) and our Northern Knights (I was the American Flag bearer and then rifle) traveled around New England for many years (70's).......... Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!

I had a new knee put in on the day of that wreck almost didn't have it done but thank God no one was hurt very badly.I was at the hospital where some of the kids were brought too.
Please check your route as we have flooding here in IA and NE up into SD and ND, the Corps of engineers have made a mess of this area leaving water out of the dams.

Karen, you must mean "Bandana Square". Really cool place. It used to be an enormous train depot, it's a whole big shopping mall now, mostly restored. That's even closer to me, way closer. Probably 10 minutes. Let me know as your plans progess, it sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't seen Mt. Rushmore or Yellowstone since I was a kid but I sure do remember it still.

Update!!

We had a fabulous time!! Only missed about 4 orders for flowers... my friend in the next town over took care of two of my customers. I am so glad that we went!!!

Here is a little glimps of Hunter performing and kindred spirits miles apart... Linda from Anytime flowers went to the performance in Woodbury MN.. Thank you Linda and Hubby for taking time from your life to spend a few hours with us!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

I saw the sign for Wagner SD... but couldn't get there, it was late and a storm was approaching. However, we did drive by Fancies, but missed her, she was in North Dakota, but we visited her shop and took a picture.
