That looks an awful lot like the road Victoria's daughter Alana rode down on by bicycle, (in the "Traveller's Prayer" thread) but it could just be another scary scary place to be a driver. Your picture from inside the bus, looking out at the misty abyss was the most disconcerting. *shudders*

Yupper... that's her road... it's billed as the World's Most Dangerous Road. :)

She has a CD of her ride. We watched it and her response... "Holy Crap! I can't believe I did that!!!"

How did they get a dozer that close to the trail blazing Goat, sure hope the engineer that built that has done nothing where I have to drive.

Just prior to Alana biking down that road, a truck carrying oranges and cocaine dropped off the cliff. No survivors and no one tried to recover either product or body.

It's a different world.

OMG! I saw and rode on some scary roads in Peru, but nothing quite like this one. It is not easy to even simply look at some of these views.

Connie, now that my child is home safe and sound I'm learning more about how scary the roads etc. were in all the places she visited. I prefer knowing now!

I remember the road from San Jose to Tamarindo in Costa Rica. We took the bus. I vowed I would never again complain about roads in this country... and to date I have kept that promise!

She is having problems loading pics on to her blog, but when she does, I'll post them. :)

Sometimes it's best not to know the details until later, right V?

She is now saving for a journey to Antarctica (why, I have no idea)... and I'm still getting dribs and drabs of her adventures living in Costa Rica 6 years ago! Sometimes Connie, 6 years is still toooooo dam n soon. ;)

Eric, they don't slow down in Bolivia either! That's why it's called the world's most dangerous road. I watched the video of this place and oh my God... scary stuff. :)
