Hi flowerchatters,
I'm ruthy. I have been doing flowers for many years. I have not had any formal training but i am taking some floral classes at this time hoping to learn so tricks of the trade. All of the stuff i have learned has been self taught i guess you could say by trial and error, browsing around the stores and letting the creativity flow. Most of my work is done for my church. I help people that are going to have wedding and quinceanears and funeral, any kind of event that might need flowers at my church. Every week or so i make an arrangement for the alter or the entrance way or hall ways. I am trying to get my business off the ground and getting into the bidding and charging side but its fairly new to me since all of my work so far has been donated. So any advice on that side would be great. I just love working with flowers. There is a calming feeling i get when im walking around the flower mart and i see all those colors and different types of blooms. And no matter what kind of mood im in when im done with that arrangement and i see it in front of my eyes i cant help but smile. I also help with planning the events coordinating wedding/quinceanera rehearsals, planning ceremonies and any other help the brides/girls might need. Its great to see that bride on that big day that she will remember for the rest of her life and know that you helped her make it all she can make it. You help others and God will return it 10 fold. By being involved here, i hope to learn more from professionals like yourselves and be inspired by all your accomplishments and achievements. And maybe one day i can inspire someone to see the beauty that flowers have to offer.
