So I'm a big fan of RVB....

We started using a different product 'cause our wholesaler quit carrying RVB...

I decided today I don't like it.

I've been seeing that new stuff in the red bottle, rose pro or something??
New product by chrysal I think...

Is it any good??

Hi Shannon!

Our wholesaler did a demo with the new rose pro product. Seems to be good. Especially given the hard time a lot of us are having getting product to last.

Ok seriously....

NO one has an opinion on RVB??

Do ya'll not know what it is??

Is no one using Rose pro??

REALLY need some feed back guys!!!

Please help.

I remember using RBV a long time ago....I'm used to shops that use the Chrysal solutions, maybe Quick Dip, and that's about it

Okay I'll respond. I have no idea what RBV is. I use Crysal #2 for processing and Crowing Glory for the finish.

I also have never used the Pixie sparkle and when I asked for it locally, they laughed at me. Same wholesaler told me that they no longer make the crystals that expand with water (and looks like clear jello). The other day I saw on Paul James that they are now using the very same crystals for hanging baskets. I went to Lowe's and behold, there is the product.

Well RVB worked like a champ, let me tell you....

we would process them with the RVB and when we designed with the roses, really anything, we would quick dip before each insertion...still do the quick dip part. Now we are using hydraplus and I just don't think it works as well.

I have used pixie sparkle. It's a mess, I don't care for it. Your wholesaler shouldn't be laughing at you...

Rose Pro is a chrysal product, but I want to know if it works as good as RVB.
This is driving me nuts...

Shannon,

I've got a suggestion. Try it and see how it works compared to RVB (RVB is another name for the #1 hydrating solution from Chrysal). RosePro isn't that expensive. We use it daily and include the "sticks" instead of the sachets with our roses as well.

I would never, ever use our customers as a guinea pig with new products. We always trial the product out for three weeks before we ever use it on product that is sold to our customers. Maybe a bit extensive but - I want to make sure that it works first and that it doesn't have a negative effect on the vase life of the flowers.

Most of the florists that I have encountered don't use the "step #1" since their wholesaler has already done that step. Might be why your replies are so few. We use the "step #2" T-Bags (processing solution from Chrysal) and then the "step #3" (vase solution from Chrysal). Since we don't usually hold flowers for more than two or three days the added step, and expense, of a long term hydrating solution isn't needed. Plus, our wholesaler already uses step #1 so there isn't any need for us to do it twice.

Hope that helps.

This is the thing....

I was hoping someone would have had experience with both products and could give me some feed back as to how rose pro works opposed to RVB...

Blows my mind how few people have used RVB or rose pro...

I just don't want to spend more money if it's not any better than Hydraplus.

where'd ya get the sample???

From Chrysal. Do you get Florist Review? If so there is a card that you can circle numbers to get info on products. My sample contains RosePro Hydration solution, RosePro Vaselife and 2 small pks of flowerfood.

If you don't get Florist Review you could probably call Chrysal at 800-247-9725 and see if they will send you the sample pack like they sent to me.

We have used RVB to process all of our roses and alstro for years. Love it! I notice a huge difference in the hydration of the alstro if it is not used. It is pricey, but worth it.

I'm with Flowerchatter03... don't know what it is, but use #2 and Crowing Glory.

Flowerchatter03 I think that stuff you are looking for is called Sta-Moist. We use it in hanging baskets and planters. You can get a "coarse" or "fine". We use the coarse. I can get you the name of our supplier if you need it. It is a greenhouse supply.

and no I haven't used Rose Pro
