I just learned some very sad new that I must pass along.
George, husband of Els Hazenberg died of a massive hear attack yesterday.
For those of yu who know Els, this is a terrible sad day, as there is no question as to the love they have shown each other over the years.
George was a true gentleman, with a kind and generous spirit, always willing to share his knowledge, and always proud to support Els with her world wide design show travels.
Els and George have been a part of my, and my husbands lives for over thirty years, and I can only imagine how difficult this is for Els...she is the most elegant, generous, kind, and gentle woman I have ever known.
Her kudos within the international community of floral designers is unsurpassed.
Her skills as a designer and teacher are above reproach. ( I never did ask her all of her credentials...she wouldn't have told me if I did. But she is an AIFD member, teaches lots of international courses, including European Design at Oklahoma, and has recieved the Award of Distinction from AIFD for all the work she has done to influence the public's perception of design....)
Her sadness now in losing her soulmate no doubt equals her greatness in industry recognition.
Please, lets all take time to send her our prayers, and condolances, she deserves at least that from us.
Thanks.
JP
