Saw on my FTD statement a $19.95 non ftd charge.
Called them up, and they say its for SAF membership, and they cannot remove it, and they have no control over it. I gave them the option of removing it or I quit.
They transfer me to SAF that informed me some Telemarketing company may have signed me up deceptively.
I tell them I am not dealing with them, and since FTD charges me on my statement, they should be able to discuss it.
I will not wait till November for my membership to end, and my attorney will take care of that.
If FTD tries to make a deal with SAF or some telemarketer and treat their customers like crap, they won't have me as a customer.

Can't speak for FTD, or SAF for that matter... but there was a telemarketer (I thought it was SAF or SAF sponsored) that contacted me...and I did sign up...if I remember right, it was a "trial offer" and that yoou could "opt out" after the first 2 months...

I do believe that FTD's only role is collecting the funds and passing it onto SAF. Perhaps this is why FTD can not just stop it, until SAF tells them to... I really don;t know...just my guess...

Not saying it's right...

wrong way to do business....

...this is a very poor way to conduct business. FTD should know better than allow this to occur. TF is very bad for allowing their auto bill for associated publications. I have to call an avg 3-4 times per year to get credit on FF and F&P newsletters. Always keeps me from doing more business w/these shady characters.

Telephone industry is TERRIBLE for this. From time to time we get billed for 3rd party services on our phone bill and it takes forever to get the corrections made. At least we can just not pay that portion of the phone bill as regulations say you cannot be disconnected for nonpayment of these
deceptive charges.

Problem w/ the wire service billing issue is they take your $$$ up front if they owe you at month end and you just have to wait 60-90 days to see the money you are due now! That's garbage!

Hello people, this is how it has been for at least 25 years. We have been charged through BOTH wire services clearinghouse percentages for SAF dues. Hmmmmmmm..........Which is why I called both WS many years ago and said NO..then I had to call SAF to say NO........
Seemed as though everyone wanted to blame everyone else. Finally I just asked for credits....no demanded credits on those SAF fees through the WS. Funny how everything finally stopped. SAF gets no money from me until they start supporting the Florist........the Real Florist

A couple of years ago, just before we left FTD, I seem to remember that there was a trial membership with SAF and then when the couple of months were up, unless you notified them, you became a member. I wasn't going to stay in FTD so did not pay much more attention to it.

However, isn't there something in Canada if not the US as well, that it is illegal to make it your responsibility to cancel something or they will automatically charge you for it? Remember when all the new cable TV stations came out ..... they had a free trial period and then unless the subscriber called to cancel before the end of the trial .... they would sign you up ........ there was a public outcry. I understood that the only legal way to do it was after the trial period they would have to call you to see if you wanted to continue or they would automatically cancel the service.
