F&WB is my magazine so probably a reference in that.
The website is simple but she is trading out of a garden centre complex so a legitimate B&M store

What's like being located in a garden centre ... do you get knock on sales and why did you choose to base there rather than a stand alone unit.

Hi again,
Well looked up Carrie, I found this website via the Florist and WWholesale Buyer website (I subscribe to the magazine)
Long story short I needed a change of career last year and the lady who had the shop was retiring and had it up for sale.
Opportunity was too good, I have always been into gardening/veg growing so thought why not. She agreed for me to be in the shop for her final couple of months so all my training has been hands on. I got a copy of the HCC floristry course and any books I could lay my hands on. I am also trying to attend as many short courses as poss.
The previous owner works for me when needed and is also in the garden centre several days a week. I cant believe how helpful and tolerant she has been !!!
I am based in a garden centre so there is synergy.
I am in a small village and it is a very small shop, and a lot of the work is funerals. Obviously there are limitations in what I will attempt but I still think there is a place in the market for a local florist selling fresh flowers at realistic prices.
My main reasons for wishing to join this website are to further my knowledge and to learn new skills, to keep up to date with whats happening in the world of floristry.
PS the website is not what it should be but thats another story and I hope to rectify this soon
