I am so excited, I start Phil Rullodaç—´ design class on Monday. I had so much fun helping (and learning) from Cathy and Phil's show last month I decided to sign up for school. I have been doing the business side of my shop for three years now and decided it time to learn design.

Wow! Nothing like starting from the Top! Best of luck ... post pictures of your lessons!
:)

Day 1. All I can say is Wow! What a powerhouse course. There are so many great ideas I think I will need a bigger brain : )
We did a dozen roses many different ways, more that I knew were possible. The class is full, I took a picture of the class with their rose bouquets in front of them. I'll try and post it if I can figure out how.

Gosh - I got to see Sharon for a whole minute today. The school is next door to the shop but we were busier than normal for a Monday in July... and the pile of 'to-do's' on my desk keeps growing...

IMO the school is unique in that students get to see the lessons they learn being implemented in a retail setting at the shop next door. As far as technical execution goes, there's no finer teacher than Phil. He's a mechanics nut and that's part of what makes his work photogenic and deliverable. (He's also really frugal so little goes to waste.)

The advice I give every student is to take lots of pictures and to write copious notes. They're a great help when you get back to the 'real world.' :)

Congrats! I am sure this will make you a better owner and more respected by your designers.I am very happy to hear you are doing this I think it is great!

That is so cool. I wish I lived in CA so it would be convenient for me. I would like to do it anyway sometime. :)
