Oi, the last hurricane several years ago hit as we rolled into a private residence in Virginia. A back yard tented BarMitzvah with all the bells and whistles. It was like having 5 people holding a water hose over our heads unloading. Our shoes were being sucked off our feet as a mud puddle was being made on the lawn to the tent from all the traffic. The water was pooling on one end of the tent, I had to send a couple of guys to Home Depot to buy some plywood and shovels. We made drainage ditches and laid plywood for flooring, about 15 sheets. All said and done, the rain stopped 10 minutes before start time.

yaa that was fun. Funny thing is we have a Sunday tented party. I'm getting to old for this.

I'm crossing my fingers that Saturday is a no rain day!!! I'm chair person over craft's at our towns festival. I have over 50 venders coming. And looking for 10,000 + people to show up and make this a great festival! We plan a year long for this day. This festival is in my town of Williamston SC, this is the 28th year for this event. These funds support the Christmas park for the month of December. Lights and Santa free for any one wanting to come to our park.If rain comes we lose out big time.

nah.... gonna hit Nova Scotia or glance by it last I heard. Keeping watch though!

Thanks for the good wishes. By the time the hurricanes reach this far north, they usually aren't as devastating as the mid and south eastern seaboard, but they still do a lot of damage, lights out for a week, etc.

I remember a scenario a few years ago, the major networks were showing the east coast dealing with a hurricane as it approached each area ... in the Carolinas, they were evacuating; in VA, they were boarding everything up and sandbagging; in New Jersey, they were preparing shelters and stocking up food, then they show MY town in CT, and the footage they chose to show was idiots are sitting on the seawall, with huge waves pounding on their heads and they're all yelling "Wheee!" Unbelievable!
