sending pm's to "members"

upon signing up to forum a while ago, something has been sort of bothering me... - i got a solicitaion, or jaded, if you will, private message saying " if there is ever anything i can do to help"... and so-on from a member of this group - clearly promoting services - both in copy of message as well as sendors signature..

is this marketing to members of this forum condoned, if so encouraged?

Phil, I try to welcome everyone to this forum personally. When I offer to "assist" I am reffering to helping folks figure out the bells and whistles as well as all the buttons and configuration available to each user.

If I remember right, you inquired about a few things, and I replied...

Not all florists are as web, PC, or BB savey as you or I, and others, and some need help....

I was just trying to be friendly, and helpful...and honestly, you are the first to question my intentions...
