Well, I did it...I will be free of 800-flowers on April 30th, 2010...

I sent an email letting all the department heads know my letter was coming certified mail with confirmed delivery. I sent that out today...Got an email back from the president of the company...got a phone call from the vp of my area reps and got a call from my area rep today...of course they do not want to see me leave, but I just told them it was costing me money to belong, the volume was no longer there and I was not going to change my mind. My area rep was not surprised because I have talked with him many times this past year about this, but his boss was shocked...He all but fell over himself with offers, because I am such an asset to the company(yeah right)!!!

I am very proud of myself for making this decision, it should have been made over a year ago, but now it is done...and I am happy for it.

It's funny, when you're ready to leave, you're ready to leave despite all sorts of offers being showered from 'above.'

The irony is that if they were sending you more orders, you'd probably get a phone call for a shakedown instead of an offer for freebies.

Will they buy back their branded containers (Martha Stewart, etc...) or will you be free to use them on everyday orders?

:squish:Ah Lori,

Congratulations! You SHOULD be proud of yourself, it is a courageous thing to do, even after you have figured and re-figured the dollars, (or lack of).

Boy oh boy, are you ever going to enjoy your holidays, I'm tellin' ya!

Linda

According to the rules, I am supposed to stop using all 800-flowers branded merchandise...Martha gave us the ok to use her containers as long as we paid for her protion of the arrangement more than we already paid, not sure if I will get a bill for the containers I have left...or if I can pack them up and get credit...I will sell them to the franchise here if need be, Luckily i have been not reordering anything as D day was getting closer, I don't have many 800-branded items in stock and very few Martha items...

If you bought and paid for the containers aren't they yours to use any way you wish? People buy stuff like that at yard sales and use them. What are they gonna do, arrest you for unlawful use of a keepsake container? If so, I'll see you in jail when TF arrests me for using up my left over crap from them.

I am not to worried about the bloomnet stuff, but the Martha stuff, we can't use them for anything but her arrangements at all and when we bought the containers we also signed a contract that we would only use the containers sold by her marketing efforts not our own....then when she couldn't hock enough of her stuff on her own merits she let us as long as we signed a new contract sell the containers on our websites and in stores and pay her an additional royalty fee for the arrangements...I never signed that agreement...i feel the same way as you, i paid for the darn stuff now it is mine to do what I want with it...I think I will use the small white gerbera bowl as a spitoon...maybe even a bedpan...How's that Martha...

Okay so you take a video of you smashing all of the Martha Stuff and post it on YouTube saying that your free from 1800flowers.

Lori did you have to buy the Marfa stuff, or do you pay for it after the fact?

I doubt they want it back, knowing they have a warehouse full someplace. If it's *your merchandise* then I would use it after the membership is null and void without worry.

I had to buy the Marth stuff, it was like and 800.00 buy in...There was a supplemental contract sent out(that I did not sign) saying we would be charged an additional fee if we sold on Martha's behalf her arrangements on our website or in our stores...and that we cannot put arrangements other than the ones she has "designed" into the vessel....

I am fully expecting to get a bill for this supplemental charge(even though I did not sign the contract saying I would go along with that rule), to make the containers mine free and clear..I expect that they will use whatever numbers are in their tracking codes...They will be getting a call from me letting them know that Dave Galvin is welcome to come get them and they can credit my account the original purchase price if that be the case...I have had no use for them up until now, I don't see that I will have a use for them going forth...

Just tell them..come and get them..but, you GOTTA "tell" them, that IF they are NOT outta your store in 30 days they go on EBAY, and THEY'LL be responsible for NOT "re-claiming" this trademarked product..too bad, so sad, you 'advised" them

Just start charging them storage fee until they pick them up.

One of my brides, brought me 3 or 4 matching
vases to use for the card table, bar and bathrooms. Her mom found them on "overstocks.com" and on the bottom of the vases was printed "FTD" Wouldn't be surprised to see Martha's stuff being sold on the net somewhere, Cheap, Cheap, Cheap! But then Martha is so creative, she might melt them down and recycle them into ....... yep ...... Bedpans! Lori, you are really funny! Good luck with your new marketing! Don't forget to try Vista Print.com Lots of free marketing stuff, good quality and great customer service.
