The the Proflowers video thread, a few people have expressed confusion about the different suggestions posted. I wanted to give some explanation outside the thread to avoid a major hijacking.
What's the issue?
There are competing philosophies as to how an SEO campaign should be run. This isn't uncommon in the SEO field, the same way different florists can have different approaches to running a floral business.
Other similarities to floristry:
- While opinions vary, some things are definitely correct and incorrect
- The SEO industry is plagued with "basement betty" operators who claim the SEO title without the experience or training to be effective, hence damaging the overall perception of the industry
Why can't you explain more?
Definitively outlining every factually incorrect statement would reveal a lot of the knowledge I have spent years collecting and refining. This is what equips me for the service I provide my customers.
This is FlowerChat - we share info here! Right?
Absolutely! FlowerChat is an environment where those in the floral industry can meet and share knowledge and improve the industry.
However, this is not an SEO forum. Just as discussions last fall determined we're not here to feed knowledge to unqualified basement betty florists (different from home-based businesses!) I also cannot be spoon-feeding others who brand themselves as an SEO while dispensing incorrect information.
Sometimes sharing info is not appropriate - remember Papertini?
Can't we all just get along?
I hope so!
That said: I've always felt it is important to protect the integrity of the information on FlowerChat. Most of the time I'm happy to leave that to the membership, since you are all very qualified to spot "floral BS" when you see it.
