A move to Arizona!! I have always wanted to live in Arizona....been put on hold for the past 15 years. I really feel it's time. I'm looking to put down roots there and live the rest of my days there. So I'm considering where would be the best region in AZ for flower work. Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas?? All are welcome!! Thanks!

Sedona!! (from what I was told by my bestest delivery/designer gal who lived in Phoenix for 6 years) Sedona is the upscale area - expensive, gorgeous, lots of "people with money".
Taos is known as the "artsy" area.

Thanks for the input Rhonda! Taos is in New Mexico....won't be moving there.
My comadre and compadre (daughter's godparents) live in Chandler, AZ...so I was considering moving to AZ to be closer to them. I know for sure I don't want to move back to Ca. Honestly, I love Illinois, where I live but I am getting tired of feeling so isolated. I miss quality time with loved ones....well adult loved ones. If that makes sense! hahaha.... :)

doh.... I was thinking "artsy" so you could continue your floral bloom!!!

I spent a couple of weeks in Sedona with my husband a few years back, after an AIFD symposium in California, and absolutely loved it/ We both came home with the idea that Sedona was Heaven. Wierd, but Heaven on Earth. When I found an ad for a flower shop for sale in Sedona, I put it on my bulletin board over my desk, and I think it stayed there for 10 years...like a lottery ticket that was never checked...only the dream stayed alive. In another life...Sedona is definitley where I'd be. Sedona...what an amazing place....hmmmmmm......
thanks for the memories...............................

Yes Sedona is a wonderful place. Spent a few times on vacation there. Through the years saw a definite change. More and more I feel it each day the calling is stronger and stronger. I feel like a child at Disneyland. That nervous anticipation but excited nonetheless knowing a dream is surely around the corner. That it is within reach and will be a reality soon enough.

Aileen....I KNOW you're a "mover".....are you a "shaker" as well??
You and I are MORE alike then you'd think...Sandie and I have lived in this house almost 25 years, yet, we owned AND lived in 9 different houses, AND 3 different apartments before we "settled down"....
With YOU, I "think" it's the moving process, and NOT the destination process that makes you tick...maybe you have a cardboard box fetish!!:thumbsup

hahahah...Mikey you have a point, I crave change. Honestly I crave the road. If I could travel to different towns across the USA I'd be a happy camper. No seriously I have wanted to live in AZ since I was 11 years old. Since the very first time I laid eyes on it. I knew that was the place for me. For years I buried my love for it and even convinced myself that I didn't desire it, that it wasn't my dream anymore. When I was on vacation this past summer and we stayed in Williams for a few days I couldn't deny that I still loved that place. AND still had the desire to live in AZ, that it was just as strong now as it was back then. Now I feel it's time.

If you want to roast, live in Phoenix...none for me thanks!

If you want seasons, flagstaff. Flagstaff is the only place I'd live in AZ.
Arizona is expensive to live there,,,,keep that in mind.

YOU CAN'T LEAVE - I'll miss you very much !! I got a few friends in different parts of AZ,I'll talk to them and see what's good. Happy for you, hope it works out.

Well it won't be anytime soon!
Dar, you and Buzzy should join me. It will be a BLAST!!!

Don't tempt me. I have a friend in Sedona who owns a B&B and could easily move in with them. It's been discussed!! Flowers for every room at the Inn

Dar, ARE you SERIOUS?? WOW! I am going to call you!

We lived in Glendale, Arizona for 2 years when my husband was in the Air Force. I love and miss the smell of blooming citrus groves...there is nothing quite like it.

There are lots of block privacy fence walls around houses, and no one takes to the streets to bike ride, run, etc....it's just too hot! I also felt like I had something called "desert eyes", because I missed green trees and lawns so much.

One of our fondest memories is swimming outdoors on Thanksgiving....even though is was a bit chilly.

Oh yeah...there are lots of Ohio State fans there. hehehe

Thanks for letting me know. Been doing a bit of research and trying to decide between Chandler or Northern AZ, like Flagstaff, Prescott-up in there somewhere. I like that the four seasons occur in No. Az.

My in-laws live in Prescott, it is beautiful there with many different types of landscape. My only problem with the area is after living in Florida my entire life, I can't deal too well with the rocks, bare dirt and lack of green stuff in the surrounding areas. But I have that problem with going north in the winter also.
Good luck with your choice.

Thank you so much for your input about the Prescott area.

Well the plans for AZ are out. The husband is putting in his transfer to Chicago and looks like he will be getting it.

Hey, haven't read a post from you in a while. Good luck with your move, where ever it takes you.
