Dear Search Engine Watch Subscriber,

Starting this coming Thursday, Search Engine Watch is launching a new column titled SEM.edu.

The biggest crisis in SEM: hiring qualified search marketers.

If you want to build an SEM team in-house or hire just one person -- be prepared to pay top dollar.

The alternative? Train talented employees in search marketing.

Or learn enough about Search to make an intelligent decision on hiring an SEM consultant or agency.

SEM.edu will save you thousands of dollars in hiring costs and marketing budgets.

SEM.edu will offer continuing SEM education for agency staff and in-house search marketers. It will also explore how to build an SEM knowledge base and stay current on industry changes that matter -- and ignore those that don't.

SEM.edu will be written by Ron Jones, an Internet marketing consultant, trainer and owner of Symetri Internet Marketing, which provides strategic consulting and Internet marketing solutions for companies like Sealy, Inc., Broyhill Furniture, Kimberly Clark Healthcare, Wachovia, Shaw Industries, and Kayser Roth since 1998. Ron also serves on the marketing and education committees for Search Engine Marketing Professional's Organization (SEMPO). Ron is one of the authors for the SEMPO Institute Fundamentals and Advanced courses and oversees SEMPO's participation at all search related events.

Nice find....

Ya could have removed the "top dollar" thing...I can see Ryan getting in line :)

What do you mean "getting" ??

I'm loving this career :) Who can argue with fair wages and instant results, in an industry that literally changes overnight?

Ryan

PS - The SEW columns generally provide moderate at best info, but this might be worth reading. Having someone from SEMPO could be worth giving it a chance.
