I am in education with hearing impaired students and want suggestions to do to enhance their senses. Working with flowers will help them with their education. I do not have a website address or work at a floral shop, but have always been interested in flower arranging. I want to learn and teach my students the wonderful smells and touch of flowers and aranging them into beautiful visual masterpieces.

How did you learn about Flower Chat?

Are you a teacher? In public schools?

Lou Lynn Moss, past president of AIFD lives in your town. I would think she could be of help in directing you to the proper resources. She is very highly regarded in our industry and I have always found her willing to do her best to share.

You have a very noble cause, but, not sure the professional florists that are members here are eager to give away their hard earned trade secrets to a non professional. They paid a lot of money and invested lots to get their status.

Hi Sherry,
Welcome - what a wonderful idea, using flowers to teach hearing impaired students!

Flowerchat is more of a "business" type site, and may not be the best place for you as a member. There are several florists on here who are also floral teachers, and I hope they respond to you personally for some ideas.

There is another more design based site you should look up - www.ubloom.com. I think you may be better served there with your mission.

good luck!
:)

I agree that this site is not the area for you to obtain what you are searching. You need someone who can help you on a face to face basis, working with florist in your area will give you an outlet that will give a physical place to visit with flowers to touch and smell. Congratulations and thank you for your endeavors.
