I am home cooking up a storm. All my kids and grandkids are home for Easter. Ribs came off the grill and in the oven. Scalloped potato's done, salad done, dessert done, everything is ready for the ham to go into the oven in the morning. Table is set with the most beautiful floral arrangment. Wonder where that came from, lol! Whew, i'm tired!

Went to the town easter egg hunt with the grandkids at noon today, two 1 year olds, and a 4 year old. They were so cute, 4 year old said to me, Grandma, i'm eating herbert, I asked what is a herbert, she stuck the candy out of her mouth and it was a starburst... now everyone is calling them herberts. I imagine she just started a new family tradition. They will never be called starburst again! :boggles:

Well, back to the kitchen. Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed, holiday!

I was about to ask what time dinner is. ;)

Also, Jeannie you've been on my mind. How goes the battle?

V

Happy Easter to all to celebrate.

Can I come over, you hit 4 (meat, potatoes, greens and desert) out of the 5 main florist's food groups.

the fifth... involves a screw top cap for some FC'rs.

happy easter

Oh believe me, there will be a bottle involved, probably with a cork! As a matter of fact I may just have a nightcap before I head to bed. You know, just to relax...lol

Happy Easter Everyone! Vicki, I'm with ya sister, 20 for dinner tomorrow, Turkey, ham, 7 layer salad, potato casserole, sweet potatoes, stuffed shells, and lots more. And desserts, but my mom's making my favorite-poppy seed cake! Somebunny brought a flower arr. here too. Enjoy the day!

I have an idea. How about we post a picture of our easter dinner tables showing off our food with our flower arrangements.

Could be something we all could work together for next year.....

Just a thought.

and a good one at that!!!!

When I started up the floral dept at the local grocery store, I asked the owner if we could do a dual merchandising theme. they could supply the food and we, the flowers.

btw, I forgot to bring flowers home for Easter. We are hosting Easter this year and we will have about 20 people here for dinner.

Eric, I like the idea of posting pics of flowers and food.

Up at 5 this morning to finish writing a little thingy for church and to finish the cooking. Our family is going to my sister's house which is large enough to accomodate our growing group including friends also. It's a pot luck type thing, so that makes it easier than one person doing it all. I'm taking my soon-to-be-famous hashbrown casserole and Key Lime Cake. It will be a day of uproarious fun and laughter because those nieces and nephews can get really loud, almost as loud as their parents, when playing cards and other games...even watching some game on TV.

Thanks for the reminder about the centerpieces! They're still in the cooler at the shop.

Love you, Guys!

I could read the joy in many of your post. Hope Easter gatherings went well!!
This year I laid low, was under the weather and can't wait to get back to my self. The bug hit me like a Mac truck, backed over me too, I think!!
Man I had a birthday this week and fell apart in the same week.
Was a sweet day to see the grands in their easter dresses. Seems the older I get the less to do I make over Holidays, I didn't even think about flowers for my home!! I am getting old.

Happy belated Birthday Elmo...

Feel better.

Thank ya V, I do feel better. I think you and I share the same birth month.
At 51 years I never had a b/day the same week as easter !!! As I'm reading never will again.

old ?

Honey, no one can be older than me,,, I am going to be 52!!!!!!

Girl !!!!! I'm 51 going on ????? Till I look in the mirror, I just enjoy life as it comes. These days hope it comes just a little slower so as I don't miss to much!!!!!!!!!!!!! hAHA:spintongu

They say the new 50 is really 40. I actually feel 30, until I try to something I did in my 30's and my whole body hurts... lol. Oh well, I love life too, and they say attitude is everything........I think I have earned every grey hair and wrinkle I have!! lol

Well perhaps not to many of us had arrangements at the table this year.

I went ahead and took some pics. I'll have to figure out how to blog about having an arrangement on your table for Easter.
