1. Change your credit card clearing house if you are clearing through either/or FTD/Teleflora. TIP: MERCHANTS WAREHOUSE gives us a great rate! Tell 'em we sent you!!

2. Make sure you have everything set up and ready on your own website, i.e. pictures/descriptions of your OWN work and an online store for ordering online.

3. Begin at least 60 days prior to giving FTD/Teleflora your notice to advise incoming/outgoing ordergivers & takers what your plans are. DO NOT take any FTD/Teleflora orders. Take only if they use a credit card. Conversely when you call out, fax or email an order out.

4. MAKE SURE you have ONE credit card dedicated to "wire" orders only. this will facilitate your bookkeeping when your credit card statement arrives.

5. YOUR CALL-if you have several florists with whom you do business on a regular basis, you can bill them monthly. (I prefer credit cards...keeps the cash flow & bottom line in better shape.)

6. Now would be a good time to find software that can process your orders effeceintly. FloristWare is an easy to learn/use order processing software and quite affordable. Tell 'em we sent you!

7. Once you have everything in place, give FTD/Teleflora a notice, in writing, that you no longer wish to be a member. You will get cajoling letters and phone calls telling you what a mistake you are making. DON"T LISTEN! DON'T WEAKEN! STICK TO YOUR RESOLVE!

8. Last but not least, pay particular notice to how nice it is to see all that money COMING IN everyday...not when they decide to pay you, minus all the deductions, with a new one every month that you seldom understand.

If you are thinking about a "divorce" from the wire and have more questions, feel free to give us a call @ 1-800-284-0872.

We have been wire free since Oct. 15, 2007, had over 1000 hits on our website, I just keep counting all that money!
