Phone Bank Business aka "local Florist" in yellowpages

It's much more than just "order gatherer". I believe it's fraudulent. A customer recently went to yellowpages.com, typed in florist in Quincy Ma and a local area code with local address came up. His call was forwarded to Wisconsin "Best Floral" sent the order back to me to process via wire service. I would have thought nothing of it; except they kept his $20 same day delivery charge and told me the delivery was next day, thus irate customer called me and to make a long story short; I've been in touch with authorities re situation. I believe it's not only my city but every city in yellowpages.com has the name "florist" sometimes with an address and local phn sometimes no address. The point is most of the time you can distinguish the order gatherers from the real florist but this is deceitful advertising and a new low. Has anyone had any dealings with this shop?

Tulips... Welcome to the FlowerChat Community....

Is this a recent event? I take it you are in contact with the customer and the WS.

Any chance of getting a copy of the customers receipt and the WS transmission for use on www.floristdetective.com ?

Thanks...mark

The customer called his cc co to stop payment because he was promised same day delivery, when I delivered the next day, he called me thinking my shop was where he called in the first place. This is how I learned of the situation. But he was supposed to be charged $69 and the order was for $49.I have not been in contact w/w.s. since I believe they will turn their back. That's why I left Teleflora. The order came from Bloomlink. Actually I'm in touch w/investigative reporter from news channel. She didn't want to research at first until I sent her the link to www.floristdetective.com. Now she wants to know ALL of the ramifications to local florists and is going to do a report on it. I am basically a introverted person but this incident disturbed me so much I had to take action. Any advice on how to protray this accurately and concisely?

I recently experienced the same thing on the FSI thread

The customer paid 58 and I recieved an order for 35. On the fax from FSI it does not have the sending shop information, when I called FSI they stated that they had no sending florist information.

Taffie -

That's BS. They know exactly who transferred the order into FSI. Call FSI back and ask for the name of the selling agent that gave them the order. Keep asking for a supervisor if you don't get the info from a customer service rep. Please share the name of the company to help the rest of us prevent being part of this consumer abuse.

I am sick of local flower shops shouldering the blame, risking reputations and losing time and money by being unwittingly caught up in this kind of deceit.

Would both of you ladies request the consumers fax you their CC receipts and then fax (or scan and email) them plus your WS transmission copies to Mark (Boss)?

Thanks to you both for sharing your stories.

How interesting, this morning I had a chat with Yellowpages.com rep

I informed her that I would NOT pay for any listings until all the OG's and such were removed. She didn't understand so I told her to go to florist detective (she was typing as I gave her the url). She also thanked me and would bring this info to her supervisor concerning non Real Florists.
She may have been giving me a song and dance, but she did genuinely sound interested in what I was explaining to her. One step at a time....go for it...Make noise, especially if you get an interested investigative reporter.
