I see that today, the day after Christmas, FTD is selling the Fitz and Floyd Sleigh for a BUCK each plus $9.00 per case freight...

How many of you paid MORE THAN THAT???

By the items listed on the FIRE SALE merc msg, they must have a boat load of stuff in storage....

Dang, at a buck, they might almost be worth storing for a year....Nah nevermind... what was I thinking....

WOW! Now that's a STEAL!

At least with small bob, and after he shipped all of his UNORDERED HOLIDAY BRANDED OUT, he was able to carry it ON DA BOOKS as PRODUCTS SOLD!

At least, that was until after the next fiscal quarter and when it was all shipped back to him and kept hidden away from the auditors in those SECRET WAREHOUSES somewhere. (area 51 maybe?)

Begs the question; What do these fools think is gonna happen when they REFUSE to SPEND THEIR OWN MONEY to advertise THEIR OWN HOLIDAY BRANDED products while expecting DA FLORISTS to BUY IT, STOCK IT, MAKE IT, and then, sit on their UNSOLD PRODUCTS.

Oh, I remember now. DA FLORISTS were supposed to BUY, FEATURE, FOCUS, and SELL ALL THAT STUFF at their end, buy into the FLORIST PAID CO-OP ads at their expense, but with NO HELP from DA COMPANY wanting em to BUY IT!

DANG! Another REAL FLORIST MYSTERY OF LIFE goes UNCOVERED! Then again, I could be all wrong and maybe the thing was only worth a BUCK from DAY ONE anyway?
 
TOTO, what you just described sounds *exactly* like MLM scams! I am sure everyone here has at one time been exposed to the Amway/Melaleuca sales model. What FTD is pulling is MLM, pure and simple, and MLM is engineered to allow those on "top" to suck dollars from the poor suckers on the "bottom"...

Just a random thought that popped through my head while reading your insightful words...

Just think, FTD's fiscal year end.....those numbers are gonna get uglier and uglier ;)
 
Let's put spin on this

You can look at this another way. If they sell all those sleigh's out at a dollar, next year they can use the sales pitch that they sold out of all their holiday containers, so you better buy early in order not to be left out.

That might be something to think about if just a fraction of what's been floating around about them during the last couple of weeks has been true.

I dunno . . .
 
I am so annoyed with their antics right now that I will probably pass...but then I got to thinking that since we have winter greens in and the little candy cane pots were kinda priced ok....maybe I should buy some cases, take some pictures, and use it in our ad next year....actually we could all buy up cases and do a national ad....lol and blow their own crap outta the water with their own crap....ok, I am putting down my eggnog RIGHT now! Eggnog is healthy for you isn't it????

We too...say what you will, but those goofy things SOLD. I bought 48 more on Dec.14th 2nd day air, and sold all but TWO of those things. I thought they would be a bomb, but the CONsumer thought otherwise. Did a quick looksie at the numbers - only 22 orders for them total from .CON - the other 50 were ordered from customers. It was also in our c-mas brochure, so that spun some sales for sure.

About FTD selling them for a buck - yea, no shocker. FTDTEL have been doing fire sales on their leftover stock for years. I remember few years back the FTD white wicker sleigh - marked down to 99 cents...bought 3 cases of them and made them our in house special the following year. Sold 'em all...
BUT,...this fitz thing ...I don't know...

And right now at FTDI they are trying to sell them for $6.18 each but you have to order before Sept 7th - 2005......codification deadline!!!!!!!

Looks like someone is asleep at the wheel....um website?:hammer:
