Yep, I had boxes and boxes of the stuff given to me and all it was doing was taking up space. I tried just using it as is but no takers. So, I painted it and it has been selling. Just a can of design master....here is the latest paint job.

That's funny because I had a bride that bought "vintage" milkglass on line for her wedding and had me design all the centerpieces in her eclectic mix of vases. It actually looked great in the end although I was never a fan of milk glass. If I'd known you had case of them I would've bought them from you and saved you all that paint!

Inferno, hope you checked the values on that stuff before you picked up the paint! I'm not a big fan either, but I do collect enough glass that I know some of it is valuable!

Milkglass wedding

We too did a wedding this year with the brides' collection of vintage milkglass. She also ebayed and haunted resale and antique shops to secure enough for the tables. It was a beautiful wedding. Lots of peonies.

isn't it "funny" how EVERYTHING eventually re-cycles??
Milk glass, of ANY kind has become more rare than you think....how many garage sales, where the leftovers, are just dumped!!
There was tons of milk glass around...NOW, it's in short supply.
Stuff that you THREW away, is now worth HUNDREDS of dollars....go figure.

It may have value in other parts of the country but I get it given to me by the box full! Come to Ohio and go to any garage sale, it is everywhere for a nickle to 25 cents! I always thought it had value too so I cleaned it all up and put lots of it on ebay with either no bids or $5 or so for a lot of 10 to 20 pieces. I put it in my own garage sales only to box it back up when it was over. And then my customers still keeping bringing it to me. I finally got tired of looking at it so I decided to try to move it.

Funny, how I never have what I need but seem to always have what everyone else does. :itchy:

I save the single rose vases that I collect all year long for Valentines day. Not much other milk glass gets recycled thru my shop.
I love going antiquing and seeing just ever day vases on shelfs for $4 and $5 some people must think they are worth alot of money.
