Anyone have this system? softroc
am very interested to find out if making memorial permanents in boxes or baskets is quicker or easier with this system?

Rhonda,
Are you using this Softroc system? Jane was wondering about it.
Hugh

No I'm not. I was very interested UNTIL I went to their website and read all of the "toxicity" ingredients and all of the "safety factors" to using it. I'm afraid that it seems to be very flammable and wondered if it retained such after drying. Which is why I wondered if anyone had used it. Hmm, I know one of our wholesalers sells it. Would make a wonderful demo for a panelist at a show.....hmm.....gotta call one of the chairs for the Fall show tomorrow. Thanks for rattling this cage !! :) Maybe I'll offer to do another show!

You're welcome Rhonda and Thanks for the reply. If you find out anymore could you please keep Jane in mind as she is very interested.

One of our regular FCers has had a lot of success with Softroc. Perhaps he will comment. His shop has successfully used it for making corsages. Other things too, perhaps, but definitely corsages.

We use it an love it. It makes corsages very easy and quick to make. Making silk wreaths are also a breeze. When my mother-in-law passed away over a month ago, the wreath placed on our door was made out of it and we kept it on there a month and it held up just like everything was wired and glued on to a wreath form (the actual wreath form was the SoftRoc itself).

We consider it a very good purchase.

And as far as being dangerous, it is not that much different than alot of the sprays that florists use every day including leaf shine.

GF, meaning you used fresh flowers on that wreath? Hmm, corsages? I assume it "pinable"? soft meaning not "hard as a rock" (geez that sounds dumb)

No the wreath was a silk tribute wreath for our door and the corsages are wrist corsages. The goop starts out soft and then firms up to be hard. The wreath was made by actually using the SoftRoc as the wreath form.

The best example I can give is that the product is just like "Great Stuff". If you don't know what that is go pick up a can at you local hardware store.
