So, I accomplished something this weekend. Compared to you folks that got your CFD certification etc., its really nothing. But in my little world, it was a huge deal. I was asked to speak on internet marketing at the National Gift Basket Convention. I was totally freaked out. In "real" (not online) life, I am painfully shy, the thought of working a booth at a tradeshow and talking to people is enough to make me sick. The thought of speaking in front of 200 people for a half hour, well that is enough to make me want to pass out. I felt unqualified, etc. But for the sake of the business, I decided I just had to do it. Despite the days of migraines before and after! I did it. I survived. And it actually went better than I thought it would.

Moral of the story? Sometimes we don't know our own strength, until we need to use it. If you know something will be good for you in someway, make yourself do it, no matter how much it will scare the life out of you.

There's my encouraging philosophy for the day! Go forth and conquer everyone... :)

Sarah ~ Good for you! Way to go! And hopefully, the migraine isn't too bad, now that it's over and you know that you did good. (You would not believe the migraine I had right after I tested, when I knew I blew it).

I like that fact that even though you feared it, you did it, I'm so very proud of you!

Sarah, Ricky is right...This is just as big as CFD...stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things is the only way we grow...keeping the status quo is great, but it makes us stale after a certain point in life..We all need to be challenged day to day. You really never know where something like this will take you...Even though you may never become fond of public speaking, doing this on a few occasions and desensitizing yourself to it may make you mre comfortable to speak your mind in small settings..I have learned over the years that squeaky wheels get the grease and it is really good to bust out of shy ways and speqak up and be heard, it is the only way you learn to get what you want out of the people around you that are willing to help! Good on you and now that you have gone through it once the migraines should be less next time!
