Hi everyone,
We have a bride with a quickly-approaching wedding date who has changed her color palatte to creams, pinks, and pale purples. However, she wants to emphasize the 'Spanish' style of her wedding dress with a Spanish-styled bouquet.

Any flower or shape suggestions? I immediately think of vibrant, warm colors, so we're having some trouble with this...

Thanks!!
Jerrica

When I think of the Spanish culture, I think lace, beading, elegance, exotic. I found this pic:

And it is with the pale colors. Is this the "Spanish" style you are thinking?

You're right, I do think that's Spanish-style. I should have mentioned above that the bride has a rustic/modern style, in addition. Photos she brought in all had wild botanical elements (think curly willow all over the place) and were very structured. I guess I'm trying to work some of that in for her, also... But good to see that the pale colors work in the style! Thanks!!

Definitely Spanish as opposed to Mexican. My idea of "bright vibrant colors" may be more Mexican, I guess. She didn't have a photo of her dress; she did mention lace and beadwork, but also said it had a modern-style element. hm.

well, i don't think that bouquet looks spanish at all! I think sahara roses, pale pink thai dendro, pale purple veronica, or spanish lavender would be nice.

i'd make an armature of curly willow, use italian ruscus, seeded euc, galax, etc for my base if she like curly willow.

pacific blue roses would work well too and nicely with the sahara, let the sahara open really big!

Great!! I was thinking something along the same lines, with an asymmetrical and structured style. I know she'd like that, but wasn't sure if it fit the Spanish style. You've encouraged me! Thanks a million!!

Orange blossoms are a traditionally used in bridal bouquets, wreaths, and garlands in Spanish weddings. I am not sure if you can get a hold of them, but they could be really cool. They're cream colored too! They are suppose to symbolize life and happiness for the couple is my understanding.

Good to know! I'd love to use it, if only it was available.. I'll keep it in mind for future use, though. thanks!

I do love these ideas and can visualize how this would work. So this gets my vote also.

I guess we are thinking of different "Spanish" styles. I thought I should double check some Spanish styles to see if I was way off. See the following link of a royal wedding in Spain. I guess I was thinking along these lines of elegance and lace.

I think the style you are describing is a very traditional, elegant Spanish style (at least to my understanding). The colors definitely work in that style, but from what she was describing, I think she'd prefer a more modern Spanish style. (-And I have no idea what that means!!) thanks for the ideas!

Would love to see a pic of how you handled it.....never know when I will get a similar request. I love to work with the creative. Thanks. :mobile:

I would add coins to it (thos antique gold coins). I would use them around the stems...
If the bride wants the spanish look, she has to have a big flower in the side of her hair.
However, I would stick with REDS, ORANGES, YELLOWS, and wrap the stems in black satin with an overlay of black lace.

Good luck! It sounds like a fun wedding!

I see what your saying but that wedding was 4 years ago, so put a modern
twist on it, like with the colors, style is great!! Talk with the bride and hear what she's dreaming , you will not go wrong. You know I love it when people you really don't know jump in and share views and tips, glad to be a part of it all. Show photos when its done. ( love to see it)
