Hi, I'm going to try spotlight initials for an upcoming wedding. Anyone doing this? How are you doing it?

Here is what I was going to try:
Printing initials from my printer with a cool font, then transferring them to cardboard, then cut them out. I was considering foil on the back of the cardboard as a heat guard.

Suggestions?

I think this is something to leave to the professional lighting technicians....the lighting companies here are great at making gobo's...we order them for almost every wedding.
Those lights get VERY hot...I would not want the liability at all by not using a pro.

Thanks for the info!

I've been thinking about different ways to project an image, so I'm going to try a few things, then test before actually using. Someone gave me a DJ spotlight, so thought I would experiment a bit.

Using glass is also an option, so now I just need a bit of time to play.

YOu have to be very careful with the way you are doing it, you need a die cast to do this properly, or if the way you are doing it, then you need that of a projecta,,but I have a great company that I work with, and actully own the gobo lights and get the die, for the thing, they cost like about 100.00 for the die alone, If you would like more informationplease let me know and I can send it to you..

My suggestion is you don't do this and let a professional lighting company do it, as the rest have suggested.

Those lights are hotter than hell! You most likely will cause a fire with the paper cut out.

Seriously,
I wouldn't want lighting guys doing floral design!
