Anyone want to post pics of their spring designs for Easter, Admin Pro. Day, or Mother's Day? I'm having a hard time getting inspired for some reason this year
Ok remember I'm midwest so you will see a lot of "traditional" here but we do have one "modern" for mom's day and that is the orchids with the callas but we may have to break down and use asiatic to keep the price under control. Here are a few things we have so far.
oops the first one should have only been the garden one, it has plant bulbs on the side, I really like that one.
The first 3 are spring the 2nd 3 are our first 3 designs for mom's day with 2 more on the way. Our facebook friends are naming them
Here are 2 Easter designs I posted on Facebook this week. They're from the February 2011 issue of Flowers& magazine; designed by Joyce Mason-Monheim AIFD, PFCI, AZMF
I always enjoy seeing everyone's creations.
Also had been looking for Admin. day inspiration.
Was kinda thinking design in something they could use later for office,
like a pen/pencil holder, but seems kinda boring?
This is a popular treatment we do for quite a few pieces with the river rock around the base, has a more professional look if you keep it clean, but we gussy it up for other things.
Well, I finally forced myself to come up with a few Mother's Day specials. Nothing earth shattering here, we're pretty traditional. I'll have the designers come up with a couple higher end selections after Easter. I did have fun naming them though. They're all named after TV moms. In order, as they are pictured is:
June Cleaver, Carol Brady, Caroline Ingalls, Harriet Nelson, Lorelai Gilmore, and Jane Jetson. I thought of the name thing AFTER I did the designs....it could have been better-like putting some pearly beads around the neck of the white roses and callas. I think I'll have to change that one! Hopefully, the names aren't too obscure....I just wanted to have some fun with them!
I agree with Holly those would go very well in our shop too Last year we named ours after our Mom's. That was fun! We had like Linda's Loving Blooms, Billies Butterfly Basket, and so on. That made it fun for us. I LOVE the TV mom names. We may do that next year and have our facebook friends pick. This year for V-day we did Love Songs, they really liked that too. I think you just have to have fun with it. We have been told over and over if you give it a name it sells. Even if you have a mixed vase in the cooler if you call it, wild flower paradise it will go faster then if you say we have a mixed vase for $55.00. The name makes it sound "exclusive". The only issue is when the customer calls and says, I want to send another one of those wild flower paradise things LOL!!!
Love those names! What was Mrs. Cunningham's first name from Happy Days? That would be a fun one to use. Naming the specials is always a challenge. I've used love songs, and movie titles for VD but never had much luck with creative MD names. Oh ist her name Marion?
