Hi everyone: We are experiencing a huge snow storm today in the Sault. Highways are closed from the Sault to Wawa (a distance of 430 km) and the same going east towards Sudbury (about the same distance). The city is pretty well shut down. No buses running, schools, banks, etc. closed. Even our big mall is closed!!! I was able to get into work only because I live relatively close and can walk. So it is the dog and me right now. We had pouring rain last night and then it turned windy and snowy. You can imagine what the roads are like! Hopefully, I will be able to make it home later. Gudrun

we are getting that monsters southern tail today - started last night. Yesterday in some areas it hit 60f then POW temp dropped to below freezing in just a couple of hours. The rain that fell is now a sheet of ice on every road and its a lovely 7f today with wind chills of below- who cares its just FREEZING!!!

I really worry about all my field lavender - the snow all melted so no cover and this really cold weather can do a number.

balmy....omg....Let me tell you what balmy is since you must have your head in a snow drift...it is sitting at my desk waiting to go set up a party, wearing capris, and flip flops...short sleeve shirt....and feeling the 80- degree weather outside. You NEED to get out of there...come on down and we will sit on the beach under a palm tree and talk about what the poor northerners are doing....lol
Sher...in the land of balmy!

That's why I couldn't move down south. I'd never get any work done!!

Sher, I am just jealous. And I just found out that no matter how fast you wipe, windex will freeze on the windows. :)

Well if they are emitting that much heat then cover your goodies with a lead shield or wrap them in aluminum foil so they are protected from any adverse rays! Down here we just use suntan lotion but you might have to come up with a better protector...lol... lol !
