Strange order?

Had a call from FTD today (we're no longer a member). They wanted a delivery to one of our "next day" delivery towns but didn't seem to want to hear that, just said it had to be there for start of visitation this afternoon. Told her the only way to get it there today was if I sent someone out on a 2.5 hour trip - told her 60.00 del!

Anyway she asked what would it take??? I said for Weasley berry - 500.00 !!! She seemed displeased....

Oh yes, it was for a STANDING SPRAY and they initially offered - wait for it - 61.32 TOTAL!

Weasley's lowest standing spray on their "Winterton, Newfoundland" site was 99.95 !!!!

Go figure. Hey, Frank, are you paying attention???
 
I loved it when Chris from Weasley called and asked for Rhonda....
I still told him, we don't fill for Weasley.......
hmmmmmmmm had a vase to a town away today from FTD Hdq (CC of course) for a very odd amount.....dang.......did they get it in??
$29.20 "designer choice"..delivery charge was $12.....

Thats whats going to continue to happen with these folks that have a @@@@ site for every zip/postal code in North America...they will continue to gather orders and have no place to place them...ROCK ON!

I love it when a plan comes together!
 
Had one on Sunday from teleflora Headquarters for one of their special which I do not carry or any other members in my area.
TOtal price was $59.99...Delivery to Spanish which is a 1 hours round trip $25.00
Reject their offer.

I had some orders for codified product that we did not carry. That whats happen when they offer anything to anyone wothout checking codidfied listing.
I guess we have to do their jobs since they can't read.

THe reply i sent when I got one of those orders and the second choice was similar, I would say:"Sorry we do not carry this item in our store. I also do not wish to sub the requested product to disppoint the customer who thought ordered that specific item"

It becomes their problem for taking items we do not carry. A lot of time they write sub to something similar and the sender does know about the sub and now we would have a discontent customer.

Speaking of TF Headquarters...we received an order for an azalea delivered in our zipcode. Well...in our area, azaleas are out of season in a pot to be planted. Meaning, I can get you one but WITHOUT any blooms.

The order says "similar product, value, etc.....

Our greenhouse truck was here, the only thing they had was a geranium in a plastic porch box, wrong color too. Okay...so I sent someone to Lowes. They have azaleas with no blooms, marked down. Passed and sent the same person to Walmart (I KNOW! It was either that or the grocery store!). Walmart just got in some beautiful pink hydrangeas. I said okay get it.

I personally plant it in a nice basket with moss, bow etc. It goes out for delivery (same day).

Phone rings a few hours later, it is some foreign lady that barely speaks any English and tells me their customer is complaining and that we need to re-deliver with a 20% discount.

I said no way. I explained the azalea situation and what was actually sent. I tell her that if there was to be no sub, her order should have said so. I tell her we will be glad to pick up and cancel. She asks for the 20%. I say no way it either stands or we will pick up and cancel.

She puts me on hold and comes back and says it is okay.

And that my friends is why people don't fill these orders. I should have been included in this group, however, I had a moment of weakness and "felt sorry" for the recepient because I knew no one in our town would have accepted the order, let alone send someone out to find the product.

Live and learn......

PS. I have nothing personal against foreign people. My mother is from Italy. However, if you don't speak English, don't work on the phone. I would never let my mother answer the phone at my flower shop. Sometimes people don't understand her in person.
