california crystals! Haven't heard those mentioned in 10 years at least. Did a hugh function with those little babies in vases one time creating a nightmare I don't care to ever repeat. Used them in large and small vases of Casa Blanca lilies, white roses and white tulips and white minis. They were delivered at 4:00 for a 6:00-10:00 function and then would be used again for a 9:00AM meeting and breakfast. I recieved a call at 8 AM upon entering the store from a frantic and furious customer. Grab bunches and bunches of flowers and extra designer and rushed to the site. Everything in those arrangements except the minis were wilted and limp. I was mortified to say the least and no real time to make the wrong right. We did our best and they appreciated our effort to try to save the event but they did not appreciate our explanation as I really did not have a good one. I had never used california crystals for a large event, we had only sent out a few arrangements to customers at that point and had not received any complaints. Needless to say our investment in california crystals was thrown in the trash after doing a few inhouse experiments that proved they suck the life right out of your flowers. Anyone else have california crystals horror stories?

Try This

Use the heavy metallic wire coiled inside the cylinder and attach your pearlized jems or balls to the wire. Acolytes attached to the wire add extra excitement. You can even attached blooms to the wire. Fill the vase with water for the submerged look. It makes a great centerpiece. Accent decor has jems, ornaments and balls.

Water pearls?

How about water pearls? I haven't tried them yet but, I hear good things about them.
Here's a link to someone that sells them:
http://decornmoreinc.com/waterpearls.htm

"The Pearls begin as very tiny, clear beads and by adding distilled water with your choice of dyes, in several hours the beads expand to the size of small marbles, with a shiny, light reflective quality."
