our wedding this weekend is using the submersible lights. Bride just brought in her vases, they have a concave bottom and at the pinch point they are about 2" wide so you can't get your fingers inside.

our plan was little cling on the bottom to hold the light then reach in and turn them on then pour in the beads, but now we can't get into the vase with even our fingers.

any suggestions on how to keep the little bugger lights centered on the bottom of the vase as we fill with deco beads?

also we tested the acolytes one time use with water in a vase and they stayed lit for a week. Can we figure the same on the submersibles?

thanks!

I don't know how to keep them centered other than a bit of floral fixing strip on the bottom of the light and then press in place with something long and narrow. One problem though is then how to get those boogers out of the vase?

What kind of submersibles are you using? I use the battery operated ones over and over and they seem to last a few days on a set of batteries.

Do they have to go INSIDE the vase?
Occasionally, I use some that adhere to the bottom on the OUTSIDE of the vase, where there is a dimple. Easy to turn on and off, but they still throw the light up through the water. ( www.waterdale.com )

They're "supposed" to last 36-48 hours. My experience with all these things has been that they last longer than the packages say. Which I guess is better than them lasting shorter than they say!

Have you tried putting a thin layer of the beads in the vase before dropping the light in? My experience has been that when you put some beads in before and after the light it helps it to stay in place better than if you just put the beads on top. Its like dropping something on a fluffy down comforter. For some reason the cushioning also holds it in place. But I don't have a ton of experience in this... just something to try.

We use barbeque tongs. Also had some right from the package that didn't work and had a short battery life, so you had to tighten them up or shake them...bride bought them online. I would test one.

I bought these lights from Pioneer wholesale :)

the dimple in the bottom of the vase isn't big enough to stick them under and the pinch point on the vase doesn't make the area big enough to stick beads under.

I wish I had seen this vase before I said yes to this job.

My hubby suggested long needle nose pliers. so today we try those.

thanks

Try the Uglu dashes. Little 3/4 " clear double sided squares of sticky stuff, like what holds your credit card to the mail piece it comes on. Strong bond, but also easily removable.
