Never had any problem with then in foam, especially Minis .... just be sure and use a tall enough piece to support the weight. Now 40 large sunnies would need some definite support structure around the foam.

good luck!

We use them in foam with no problems, other than they use up ALOT of space in the foam. If they come in with big stems you might want to do something different depending on the container you're using.
Good luck and have fun!!

Thanks guys! I'm using a #7 Recreations with chicken wire and tape for extra security. This is a trial run for a wedding next year, so adjustments can be made. :D I have to drive about 25 miles tomorrow with it, so it should be a good test. I'll try to post photos tomorrow.

Has anyone had problems with sunflowers in foam? I have to do a large centerpiece (about 40 mini-sunflowers) and I'm wondering if I should use foam or an armature (sp?) of some kind.

Thanks!

never had any problems with sunflowers in foam...my problem with sunflowers is the head is always so heavy even the thickest wire doesn't hold their heads. they end up looking like periscopes...any suggestions for that problem?
