how old are you Brian?...you and I are gonna hafta suit up for this friday night's game in Winnipeg!!
After last friday night's game, my Hamilton Tiger Cats football club are gonna need our help, and I don't think we could do any worse!!
Don't forget, this is probably the most storied and long lived football club in North America, and IF you and I played, there'd be even MORE stories!!

Too old Mikey , might be able to get one of my grandsons, you want the 6 or the 4 year old. The 6 year old is a big boy like his pop, but the 4 is wirery and full of spite , but his foot is in a cast so he can't go. Fly me up , my life insurance and disability are paid up to date , so what the hell , I'll give it a go. That game last Friday made me ill , never seen a team so disinterested in playing, and to be shutout at home has got to be the ultimate humiliation for a football team.

They need to find a way to put the "GER" back in their name. ;)

My father would be rolling in his grave, had he not been cremated, with this teams' sorry collective as#es.

Brian.....

I AM STUNNED......even Jamie Boreham was pretty good last night!!
I was "expecting" my Hamilton Tiger Cats to fold (not a good feeling), and instead, they actually put together a line blocking scheme that let RB Josh Ranek pile up 260 yards on the ground & air.

When I tuned in it was 8-7 Tabbies and just watched an awesome defensive game making it a lot easier on the offense and Maas had his A game for a change , was a great game , Argos next week , can't wait. Must have been the threat of a couple of old geezers like me and you suiting up that made them earn their paychecks last night or maybe they got some pride back in the dressing room.

Hey Mikey , big flux in Toronto this week , firing Kent Austin as Offensive co-ordinator and Adam Rita coming down from his Gm spot to take it on. Do the Argos seem like a real coming team or a ship about to implode? Cutting Baker loose , bring Avery back , hope the Tabbies kick their butts.

OK - this is scary - I'm from California and I know what you all are talking about.
My husband doesn't watch football anymore unless it's a Canadian team. He's a Blue Bomber fan. Admitting that part may get me kicked out of the thread ; )
Sharon

The only way you would get kicked out of this thread would be if said you were a Sacramento Gold Miners or Las Vegas Posse fan. Or you were related to the Glibermans , who have folded 3 franchises in the CFL , twice in Ottawa and once in Shrevesport. I'm sure Mikey can remember back to the late 50's early 60's when Winnipeg and Hamilton met almost every year for for the Grey Cup, what was it Mikey 5 times in 7 years?

at the beginning of this year, an "internal" confidant, made a bold prediction that Tawrahnna (Toronto) was gonna fall flat on it's face, and the much storied Argos were going to shrivel up and go broke at the end of the season!
I said "wah??" all the while hoping for this to happen to our rivals from down the QEW (an express highway that goes from Niagara Falls to Toronto).
The last team that I expected to deflate was TO, and ALSO, the LAST TEAM I expected to thrive was Winnipeg (Sharon's hubby) Blue Bombers.
The Bombers thrashed both the Argos, AND MY BELOVED TiCats so soundly, that there was NO CHOICE but to relent to the fact that Winnipeg would both HOST this year's Grey Cup, they would ALSO win it all too, right at home in November.
I see some dramatic shifts in team strengths at this moment, and I think the final outcome, is gonna shock a few "bold" opinions.....

I have the fondest memories of football players that played BOTH WAYS, played EVERY game, came from the States to compete in professional football, when there WAS NONE in the US, and when Canadian ball sent some of the BEST FOOTBALL players ever to play to the states that are legends to this very day!!
Crappy and greedy ownership has ruined many a storied franchise on BOTH sides of the 49th.

Yeah , like Jackie Parker ,Ronnie Lancaster , who backed up Russ Jackson in Ottawa and played DB too. I didn't mean to say anything derogatory about the players that are coming up from the states , just hated the illfated attempt to expand the league into the states and the only successful franchise was Baltimore and it was and will be the only American team to be etched onto the cup.:canflag:

and to this very day, we get many Baltimore fans STILL attending every Grey Cup for it's festivities, and friendship.
The Stallion fans are some of the BEST fans ever to be in the Canadian Football League

I'm thinking the Argo ship has sprung a leak to big to be plugged by a cork . The Tabbies will win especially if Maas brings his A game again.

I was glad I only got to tune in late in the 3rd quarter, can't they lost this game handily , maybe they should only play on the road. Shutout at home last game and only 2 points in this game , what the hell is up. what I saw made me ill.

Enema Time Brian.....

one thing has made itself perfectly clear, these players are NOT "professional", and are consistently breaking the letter of their contracts, whereby they WILL ,to the BEST of their ability, PLAY with their BEST ability!!
This is pure humiliation, and based on last night's fiasco, I'd say it'd be best that NO FANS show up for the Labour Day Classic in protest.:soapbox:
On a more positive note, Damon Allen has now joined Warren Moon, in the 70,000 yard passing club...THE ONLY 2 pro quarterbacks EVER to do so in professional football ANYWHERE in North America, and BOTH had their BEST YEARS here in the CFL!!

We had this 2 years ago , turned it around , and back to pitiful again, full circle. Do they dump all the players , all the front office , coaching staff and start from scratch AGAIN. Or trudge along with their cast of bad actors and try to rebuild for next season. Saw only a few minutes of this game , tuned in saw all was lost and turned off. Saw part of the Argos & Alluettes, was amazed to see the pounding given to Cavillo and the offence by the Argos, and here you and I were writting them off 2 weeks ago.
