well in our area the winters are quite cold so gardening is only seasonal. i needed something more to sustain my family. this flower shop had shut down and my friends and i thought WHY NOT. they all think i can do it. only thing is, it is VERY slow. I know it is slow time for all now, but i am worried that people are afraid to trust me with their events. I have had a few funerals and was highly complimented on them. so i dont know. a florist friend of mine in another town who is my mentor, says to stick it out it will get better.:drunk:

I wish you the best. It will be some hard work, but if you love it like I do, it will also be rewarding both financially as well as spiritually.

I remember early days when wholesalers were our bank, to help us through the slow times... allowing us to catch up our accounts after floral holidays. Boy, I don't ever want to go back there, but it built character that came in handy later. When I make suggestions here in our FC Community, like many others, the comments come from many years of struggle and learning from experience.

Now, we're fighting tough in this economy. It isn't easy, but I feel like our earlier struggles have equiped us to survive with some more hard work.

Again, I wish you well in your endeavor.

Put a little tape over the switch so they can't turn it off. It doesn't make the fire dept happy but it will keep the cooler going.

That's a good suggestion, but you're right, you'll get a demerit in fire inspection.

We used a cool little thing we found in the electrical department of the hardware store. It is a bit more expensive than a piece of tape, but did exactly what we needed: kept access to a switch, but protected it from getting switched unintentionally.
