Hi everyone, looking for advice/help! Has anyone here made or seen a flowergirl pomander made of sweet- peas? I have a June 30th bride that would like 3 of them. I have never actually used them, are they too delicate for that? Help is appreciated!!!

Like you, I would think that they would be too delicate. I can't wait to see if anyone has done them.

I generally do not like to use one flower only. Sweet Pea in July were not too good, not sure about June. Another caution: the flowergirls will probably be swinging these around.

here's my limited experience with sweet peas... at a design show a couple years ago.. a bouquet (bride's) was made with sweet peas and other flowers.. i ended up with the bouquet (they had auctioned it) it rode with me all the way home.. not protected for 5 hours, and then we had it around in the shop for about 3-4 days.. the sweet peas lasted the longest!! the bouquet was made in an oasis holder.

I would think that the stems would be too delicate to insert into an oasis sphere. I wonder if it is possible to glue them into a tulle puff? Maybe you could do a base of fresh carns or roses and then glue some permanent sweet peas in? I wish you luck!:)

Those round things are a pain!

The absolute very best sweet peas I have ever used were used in a wedding last July. The wedding was in the mid July.... who would have thought... sweet peas in July

I got them at a great price as well. It helps to be a good customer at a local wholesaler who pays their bills on time.

The wholesaler wasn't an STL wholesaler either.... I have a huge bone to pick with one of them.... but that is another story...
