I have a MOB who wants to give each guests (200) a bag of cookies and a small cluster of flowers in a paper cone.

It's an involved wedding and I do not want to under-estimate how long it will take to stuff three flowers into a pre-made cone that is probably not a great money-maker.

What would you charge for flowers and labor only - 200 cones. Most likely using 2 roses and 1 stem of spray rose.

Thanks

Not looking at individual.. but the whole picture - I would do $6.25 each... if the Number goes down.. the price goes up...

Oy vey!

$7.50 here, for 3 stems (either spray/standard) water tubed & stuffed, her cones. Cones are a logistical nightmare - any significant quantity seems easier to do on-site, which is not my favorite place to work. We've done them w/petals for tossing & aisle markers, never for favors.

Involved weddings are fun sometimes - pics!

$8 materials, plus labor - I'd probably charge $10-12, but wish I had gotten $15.

If each one takes exactly one minute (not saying it will, but who times things down to seconds?), it would take you 3 hours and 20 minutes non-stop for 200 of them.

I want to know how you're going to pack them up so the tubes don't leak all over the place...and how far in advance you plan to do them. It would probably take me another hour to figure out how to pack them up for transport!

In my area, the cost of the flowers would be 15$. Add the waterpicks, delivery etc, and I would say 18.00 each. Delivery would not be so big a deal...just take them standing up in a large flower box or whatever, but you would need a semi designer on site t ostuff them into the cones...my delivey people would not do that... so you have a designer out of the shop on site for 2 or even 3 hours...Yep, 18$ each would be okay to make money.

If they want something cheaper, why not suggest a single cymbidium orchid? We often do this. One orchid in a water tube will fill the cone nicely, and you can prepare them in the shop and deliver them done. You'll make more money with this option. Plus it looks like it costs way more money.

I would charge $15 each but grumble the whole time I was doing it! Instead of water tubes, why not make your cluster, insert all the stems in a small piece of wet foam, wrap with saran wrap and rubber band. My luck, the water tubes wouldn't fit in the cone and the stems would be too long--it would just be a disaster!

Ok...I had a college professor who always told us to price a piece of our art work as to how you feel about it. Like...if someone wanted it.... the $ you'd get for it... wouldn't make you sad to let it go. This is the same situation. I think it calls for a big P in the A "special handling fee". So how bad do you really want to do this? $20? or $12.....I know what my answer would be:)

If they need to cut back, suggest 1/2 flowers for just the girls. I do this with napkin flowers and skip every other one or bud vases on tables.

Try this idea............Two ways to do this depending on your MOB's budget for the take home guest flowers.

use the cones from commercial sewing suppliers - you can probably get them from a sewing supplies store.

or - you can order inexpensive ones pre-made from www.cameomacguffin.com

Their least expensive ones are covered in a simple cloth without any kind of ribbons, trims, etc.

Water-tube your materials, wrap them in a bit of tissue to bulk up the base, push the pack into the holder.......if the tissue corners stick out.....ok.gives a little more presentation value.
