It is amazing the Birmingham area talent that has been highlighted by American Idol.

Glen, I love Taylor. He is a joy to watch because he loves what he does. He's a three D entertainer. I'm so disappointed that Elliot went tonight... he too is a fine talent and really good entertainer. Katherine is just too flat a personality and while her musicality is very good, she doesn't connect very well, in my opinion.

At any rate, way to go Taylor, and Birmingham... musical talent and floral talent... how great is that!?!?! ;)

Taylor and our delivery driver. . . . . .

While Taylor was in town (as shown on tonights idol) we had a delivery to the big mall. Our driver, Teresa ("THE" Worlds Greatest) was trying to get up the elevator when Taylor was coming off and he ran right into her, crushing the flower arrangement.

They actually had her live on the local TV station.

She was a celeb for a minute. She signed autographs. Just kidding about the autograph part.

She must be the greatest to have been able to tackle that mob scene! :)

Love Taylor, but I am afraid so do all the 40 somethings watching and that is not who drives the pop music industry. I think they missed the boat letting Chris go, may have not been perfect musically, but he would have sold CD's. The voting system sucks. I wish they would have all the talent during the show come back and judge the last 6. Foster, Wonder, Stewart, etc would be much better judges and then we would have them judged on the musical talent alone.

Ah but Missy, that would change the flavour of the show. It would no longer be "American Idol". I believe the reason for it's huge popularity is because the minions can make the decision to change a person's life.

Musically, vocally, Elliot had everyone beat. He could sing the phone book and it would sound great. Pretty remarkable considering he's 90% deaf in one ear.

While Katherine can sing, she just doesn't have the "it" factor to relate to the audience. Plus, her inconsistency was glaring to me.

Taylor is an entertainer period. He feels complete joy in what he does and it shows. He can sing, he certainly can't dance ;), but his joie de vive is iinfectious. He will go far in his genre.

Chris will land on his feet, without a doubt. He has an enormous talent as well.

It better be ........

Taylor coming out on top !!!!!!!!! Just looking at the silver hair is enough to phone in, let alone the music end.

I'm 42, I picked Chris from the very 1st show. I can't believe america wants Taylor. Sorry, Taylor lovers, I never liked him. When I watched the show this week I closed my eyes thinking may it was looking at him that was distracting, unfortunately he sounded better looking at him. Oh well, I think we will be hearing Chris on the radio long before Taylor.

And Simon said he's never make it. lol - Yeah I too like his unique style and hope he wins!

Yeah the voteing is odd. I remember when Ruben won and they interviewed his mother. They asked her, how many times did you vote for your son? She said thirty something. They then asked Clay's mother and she said, just once. Hmmmm. I guess Ruben should be proud. :\

Sure never thought it would be Taylor and Katherine as the last two that's for sure.

I agree Victoria that Katherine even though she has such a lovely voice when singing the right song just does not have the "it" factor at all.

Too bad Kelly Pickler didn't have a bit more musical ability as she had a ton of the "it" factor and I'm sure thst's why she lasted so long.

Knife, it sure seemed like Chris would have been one of the final two, I'm very disappointed, but I never voted so I can't complain too much. I tried many times and never got more than a busy signal. After twenty minutes I gave up. I guess I just enjoy watching more anything else.

Mandiza had star quality, shocked she got voted off as early as she did. I'd hate to think it was her weight as Reuben won first place. Guy/Girl thing? That double standard makes me sick to my stomach.

I do believe Taylor's natural entertaining quality and the fact that he is obviously having the most fun in the room has been a huge influencing factor for him lasting to this point.

Between Taylor and Katherine? Taylor by a landslide in my opinion, but like Bloomz' says: Opinions vary!

One of the best 'G' rated (for the most part) shows around I'd have to say and I just keep finding out so many different kinds of people watching it every week. First time I watched from day one as I have it set to tape every Tues and Wed from 8-10 so I catch it for sure.

kat

Kat tries to exude confidence but just reeks of conceit.
She has an incredible voice but the personality needs an adjustment.

You are right about that. However, when I am making a friend I care about their personality. When I want my senses stimulated by music all that matters are the sounds I am hearing. Based on that, I pick Kat over Taylor anyday. Most great vocalist have are people I would never want as friends.

While what you say might be true, it's not the measure of success. If the artist doesn't connect with the audience, their fame will be short lived. A real honest, in my opinion, must have the whole package... certainly the ability to sell themselves. Katherine, at this point, doesn't have that.

For example, I wouldn't spend a thin dime on anything Tom Cruise does ever again. He has disconnected himself from this audience member. ;)

Katherine has hit too many sour notes in the last few weeks to be top five material. When she sings the right song, she does a great job. Unforutnately, she runs into trouble while doing the runs (I think that is the right term).

Overall, neither Katherine nor Taylor are of the same caliber as the top two in previous contests, IMHO.

Best two were Chris and Elliott but they both may be better off by not winning, giving them more freedom to pursue what they really want to do.

Once Elliott was gone my daughter said she doesn't even have any interest in watching the finale.

Way to go Tyler!!! The show tonight was really entertaining. It's big when Prince is the surprise artist (formerly known as. ;)) I love Prince. The only sour note for me was Dionne Warwick. She kept sliding off her notes.

Because I checked in to dialidol.com every week I wasn't really surprised tonight... Tyler was consistently at the top.

Congrats Birmingham for sending more talent out there.

Actually it's TAYLOR.......and he is awesome!! My pick from tryouts...
His debut song is perfect for him. The guest performers...hmm they need computers to perfect their notes (studio musicians except Dionne who is just "older" and is excused-Prince is just Prince) Mary J and the other one-showed that the studio does their singing.
I'm very happy that the "good old boy" won!!! Gotta love that down home voice.

Now onto the "LOST" finale!

OOPS. I know it's Taylor, but my fingers go faster than my brain most days. I must admit though, for most of the season, I kept calling him Josh! I have no idea why.

For young folks, both of these need a round of major applause...actually the final 10 were all very good considering that they are not professinals. If MJBlige's performance tonite was an example of her work..wow was I disappointed...shaking your bootie is one thing but ya better be able to sing while doing it. ( I can't chew gum and jump rope at the same time but no one is paying me major bucks to do that that) Maybe she was having an "off" night but I thought she stunk. And Clay Aiken...he looks like a different person but I still get a kick out of seeing him.Who sang with Elliott...that was not impressive either...the young folks did a better job than some of the pros.

My brother is a huge M.J. Blige fan, and he enjoyed her performance tonight. I agree with you Sher... not so much. Elliot made me cry... I like him a lot. He definitely out sang Toni Braxton. She sounds great as a studio artist. I thought the reaction from the young man who tried to emulate Clay was priceless. It's a night he'll never forget, bless his heart. Clay looked and sounded great. :)

I do believe this year's talent pool runs very deep indeed.
