This is a new one to me....Just found out about it yesterday.

Like a lot of florists, I pay my Teleflora bill by letting Teleflora keep my credit card deposits until my statement is paid. After the statement total is paid, they they once again start depositing my credit card proceeds into my bank account. This seems to work fine for me. If I ever have a chargeback, the total chargeback amount is subtracted from the gross total of one of my daily credit card totals. While reconciling my credit cards on the "MyTeleflora" website yesterday, I noticed that Teleflora had taken $117.40 more than my statement total. When I called to ask why they told me a chargeback (that I was expecting) was taken from my net total instead of my gross total, the rep told me this is the way it is done now. What this means is Teleflora takes their fee ($3.53) to process the $117.40. Then, when the chargeback is taken, they take the $117.40 from me and they keep the $3.53 they took to process the credit card.
I'm soooo tired of Teleflora increasing their bottom line at my expense......
Looking for a different way.....

Stop using TF for your CC processing - there are less expensive alternatives, such as your bank who will, quite possibly, give slightly better terms for banking with them than if you banked with a different financial instituition.

Just to let you know that if you decide to leave TF, the way you pay them by letting them take your cards, means you are paying late consistantly...they keep your 200 dollar deposit from that little ditty...not to mention charge you to the tune of 80.00 a month in late fees...

Rob, are you using Teleflora technology like Eagle or RTI?

Check into PPI... www.paypros.com or your local bank...

When I was with a wire service, I too did my credit cards through them, but they (used?) to let you decide a percentage, like I got 50% and they kept 50% with daily deposits into my account for my 50% then at the EOM they would deposit the balance less my clearinghouse statement...

You can still do that however they don't tell anyone, because they would rather coolet the 80 late fee than let you know you can have another way of paying so you don't get behind...aholes..

Actually, that's not the case. Takes about a one day most months to pay my statement. Payment isn't due until around the 25th of each month. They deduct payment from my account usually around the 9th or 10th of the month. I never pay a late fee. Don't remember a $200.00 deposit.....
My problem is that I've become lazy and have become reliant on TF for too many things ie. Web page management, display catalogs, emails to customers. POS system etc.
The $1.00 charge for non-confirmation of deliveries really teed me off..........this cc thing is just another straw.

Yep......you're right...called today to look into it.....
Looking into a few other options as well.....

Do you have a special deal with TF or are they siezing your cc on the 9th or 10th..if they are automatically taking the cards, that means you are paying about 25 days in arrears...unless you have set up a different payment deal with them...I would look at that statement more clearly the late fee would be at the very end along with reciprocity, QA, SAF, and all the other long list of foolishness...

Not sure how you're looking at this.......But this is how it works for me.....
Statement for July is available online around Aug 10th.
On Aug. 10th TF begins to keep 100% of my daily credit card net totals until my statement is paid in full.
For me this takes at the most 2 days. Statement total amount is due by Aug. 25th.
My statement is always long paid in full before the 25th. I never pay a late fee.
My only complaint about TF and credit cards, but far from being my only complaint about TF, is the new chargeback policy where
TF keeps the processing fee even if we lose the transaction because of fraudulent use etc.

In your initial post you indicated a charge which suggests that you are paying 3% fee per (average?) transaction. You'd get a better rate shopping around - depending upon the card and the processer - on non-swiped cards you could get anywhere between 1.79% to 2.79%. TF may not be the most expensive but they are certainly far from the least expensive.

Telefora

We have been been doing credit cards from 700.00 to 3,000.00 we have been in business for 25 years, they have not credited us for the amount that we have been expected to deposit. What is going with your credit amount. We expect to have our bussiness not be held, we know our customers.

As far as I know the credit card processing fees and transaction fees has never been credited back for chargebacks or refunds.

Also when shoping around for credit card processing there is only one rate to look at and its the Keyed in Rate. It doesn't matter if you can find a low rate and its only for swiped credit cards or ATM pin cards.

Even when I called Pay Pros the keyed in rate is still high and I know thats what most of us do when we take orders over the phone.
